Seeing as how we've got Batman on the board, let us debate the topic of Val Kilmer VS Michael Keaton in the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne (and no saying Keaton was the best simply because he was working with Tim Burton). I refuse to recognize George Clooney as Batman/Bruce Wayne because he made no real effort to be the character, he just played himself as he seems to do in all his films (though I did enjoy him in the overlong "O Brother, Where Art Thou?")

To me the real difference of Kilmer and Keaton is not the portrayal of Batman (they both went for that low-key, raspy voiced approach) but more how they portrayed Bruce Wayne. Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne was kind of this quirky, blue collar working man type, whereas Val Kilmer's Bruce Wayne was more the polished, prep school socialite businessman type.

How do you all feel about Christian Bale in the upcoming "Batman Begins"? I think Bale will be fine, it's Cillian Murphy (28 Days Later) as the Scarecrow that I'm worried about. He just doesn't seem right for that part. Crispin Glover would have been a good Scarecrow, but almost everyone in Hollywood (except McG) seems to be afraid of him.

Or should we take this over to the "Movies" board?

I wasnt saying Batman isn't interesting or heroic. He just dosnt fit the general archetype for superhero which is as follows:

Big chin
Super strength
Super speed
Cape
Tights
At least one aditional super power.

So you see, he has chin tights and cape, but he lacks the superpowers that make a superhero. Like I said he's more of a secret agent or super spy type indivicual, relying more on wits and gadgetry. I think Iron man would fall into the same category.

or

Who do you think would win in a fight between Yoda and Sonic the Hedgehog?

Who'd win between the wampa and the abominable snowman?

Oh, wait... here's another one...

I was bound to piss off JYAMG sooner or later...

The VS threads are meant to be funny and humorous, not something to get mad at. I guess my sense of humor just isn't on par with yours.

So is this the part where I'm officially banished from the forum?

Honestly, this place is as dead as a doornail. I don't see why someone would get mad at you for posting a couple versus's threads.

Bale looks like a rich kid, so he's perfect for the part... Murphy would be a great scarecrow... see disco pigs and you'll understand why...

i'd like to see patrick steward as the dude obsessed with time...

Here's one: Who could, against all reason, defend the PT more succinctly?

Use the Force or Jariten?

Originally to be offered who could do it the longest without breathing. Then I recalled my Aunt Mary had a game we'd play in the car of "who can be quiet for the longest period of time?" wink.gif

(The prize was a piece of chewing gum.)

Sorry to jump on you, Lord Aquaman but I'm finding it hard to navigate the forum these days with all the new topics.
