Hill Street Blues

ER

Cheers

Taxi (not written for the series, but great)

dishonourable mention, worst theme ever:

Enterprise
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).

Never saw Enterprise, but the Next Generation theme is right up there with the best. The original ST theme was kinda corny though. And I'd say Dragnet too, no one said there had to be a note-limit on the themes smile.gif

I'd say that much as Deep Space Nine sucks in general, the theme is actually better than TNG.

Still, my favourite theme is and always will be "The Hooded Man" from The RObin of Sherwood 1980s series, which is I think the geatest series ever done.

And guilty pleasure - I actually like Crockett theme from Miami Vice. I am really ashamed of myself, but I do

Actually, I agree with A-N. I was going to post it, but thought I should wait for somebody else to do it first.

I also quite like the themes from Futurama and Farscape. I HATE the theme from Family Guy.

"Laugh and Cry"

I hate that one too. The Simps' used Perfect Strangers in their Treehouse of Horror show last night (Standin' Tall...)

I may be wrong on that. I never watched the program. smile.gif

When I watch DVD's, I tend to fast forward the starting sequence. The advantage is, on first level of fast forward it still plays sound. I've found that pretty much any theme song sounds awesome sped up.

Also, have to put in the Blackadder theme. Thats a classic due both to its versatility and the various hilarious lyrics it has had.

I always thought that the original Star Trek theme was so cool. It's like techno opera disco! The Munsters theme rules too.

I forgot, the Saint has an awesome score. That combined with the cool title animation almost make me forget how boring and innane it is.
