There are quite a few people about who really aren't satisfied one bit with the PT. It seems to me, tht if the money could becollected, using the parody laws, a replacement PT could be done. It would be tough to organize and tough to do, but I should think it possible.

Wishful thinking. It would be great but Lucasfilms lawyers would probably crush any such attempt. Apparently, Lucas even has some problems with fanfilms that come to close to being the real thing. (source: Using the Force, Wil Brooker). There's always the TV-series coming though, my hopes aren't high but still....

Well of course, the positive thing about the TV series is that it will give up-and-coming writers and directors a chance to do their takes of Star Wars, and that could be really good and really interesting. It could also suck, but I'd say chances are better that the TV series will be decent than that Episode III will be decent.

yeah, i brought this up when i first joined up here...

that the only way to save the prequels was to re-do them from scratch...
would anyone complian... no.
at least they better not... especially the people who failed to complain about the DVD release...

Copyright law (and more importantly Lucasfilm Law) would not allow it.

I think fanfiction will be our best bet. Jacques and I had brainstormed quite a bit two years ago and we actually have a skeletal Prequel Trilogy outlined. I think we would have done it pretty well. I doubt we'll ever finish it though, since a project like that is terrifically fruitless.

still though, i say go through with it. since your critisicms of the prequels gained a lot of attention i expect a lot of people would be interested in your own ideas about how they shouldve gone.

First we have to kill George Lucas. We could make it look like a heart attack...

I'm sure there'd be loads of people willing to remake the Prequels if only Lucas would allow it. You'd end up with the opposite problem: more Prequels than you knew what to do with. And most of them probably considerably better than Lucas's, at least in terms of plot, charaterisation and dialogue.

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

I'd be curious to see them too. I just hope that you didn't retain ANYTHING from those awful movies. I get tired of people penning prequels that still have Qui Gon and Darth Maul in them. Don't use ANYTHING from those films.
