Eh, you know what, if it doesn't dominate the movie I don't have a problem with it. I liked the yellow spandex line, and frankly, one of the only good lines of the SW prequels is "You'll be the death of me." So I think those can be good if used right.
Tired Movie Cliches That we shouldn't have to put up with.

the death of me line, was just cheap...
it's the exact oposite... if you didn't know that he would actually be the death of him, it would be funny afterwards when you watch it all again...
like in Felloship of the ring at rivendell... it's not like a one liner or something but, when the two hobbits are saying like, wow what an adventure we had... when the'ye not even a quater of the way through...
it's kind of poinient...
but an obvious line like the death of me one is lame...
because it's that and some nedless cameos that are all we have to lead us to believe that anyone responsible for the preqeuls had actually seen the originals...
but more likley that line was just a coincidence...

Random, spontaneous sex
Clumsy hulks
Surprisingly agile hulks
People gaining super-strength and agility from obscure sources (death ala "The Crow" or 2004's craptacular "Catwoman", experiments ala Jeff Goldblum in the 1986 remake of "The Fly", mutant spider bites ala 2002/2004 "Spider-Man/Spider-Man 2")
People "magically falling in love at first sight"
Men whose "repressed love" for a woman makes them obsessive and creepy (Attack of the Clones and, to a lesser extent maybe, the Spider-Man films)
Brawny men being beaten to a pulp by anorexic, kung fu model waif women
Blondes of various physical size, intellect and personalities
Almost all men shave on a regular basis instead of having beards (or mustaches or goatees for that matter) because women presumably want clean-shaven men.
Leather as the definition of "cool".
Allegedly plain women getting make-overs to become the "belle of the ball" even though they were already fairly cute to begin with.
Taking a well established, much beloved myth and then trying to "demystify" it so as to present up to date anacronistic characterizations (think 2004's "Troy")
Superhero movies that boil down to the hero saving his girlfriend from some supervillain (Batman 1 and 3)
Jovial, "charmingly" cocky punks having to learn to buckle down ("Top Gun" and "Treasure Planet").
Insecure whiny young men having to apologize for being who they are to their girlfriends (any random teen movie, TV's "That 70s Show")
Smarmy, annoying rivals you're supposed to hate
And the list goes on and on...
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

always in sitcoms that have kids...
leather IS the definition of cool... it's just that any asshole can put it on... and no it doesn't make him cool... but if a cool person puts it on, it makes him more obviously cool

However, that simplistic love triangle is the thing about the film I detest the most.
How did James Cameron pitch that one to the studios?
"A girl is torn between two men - one who is a total abusive prick and is horrible to her and another who is really kind and loves her. And in our story, we watch as the girl decides which man she will choose."
I mean, what a great premise...
... for a twenty second commercial.

Daniel Day-Lewis
Billy Zane
Gene Hackman
etc.
he's not a bad actor... it's just that his enemies always have more charisma

Do you think it's possible that if Titanic had tanked at the box office (making little to no money) the folk who hate Leo wouldn't hate him quite as much?
