Toddler Wanders Miles Across Desert
Mon Oct 4,10:40 AM ET

TEHRAN (Reuters) - A 20-month-old boy wandered for 5 1/2 miles through the scorching desert of southeast Iran before his parents followed his footprints and found him sitting in an open irrigation channel, police said on Sunday.

Errant toddler Ali Esfandiarpour had been playing at home in a small village near the town of Sirjan when his parents realized he was missing on Tuesday afternoon. He was tracked down late that night.

"His family, relatives, and other villagers started walking out into the desert to look for him," said Abdolhossein Moghaddas, a police officer from the southeastern province of Kerman.

"Police and villagers followed his footsteps with torches until they found the boy sitting in an open channel used for irrigation. The boy started crying when he saw his parents," he added.

Esfandiarpour appeared unscathed by his trek.

This just proves that Iranian children kick so much more ass than American children. This story would never, ever happen in the U.S., because American children suck. And they're lazy and stuff.

Heh, you'd better watch out, AN. Carnivore might think you're some crazy left-wing terrorist or something. But yeah, Americans are lazy and stupid for the most part.

I hope this same survivability shows through when we decide to have a preemptive strike against Iran...

That's pretty redundant. I thought you knew grammar better.

Shows what you know, Ninja Duck. The correct way to say it would be: "I think you knows grammar more well."

crazy left wing terrorist is not at all a redundant phrase. The most well known terrorists are right wing groups, not left wing. The vast majority of terrorists are not mentally defective but have simply been indoctrinated to a radical brand of Islam that makes it perfectly normal and acceptable to do what they do. And while there may be a lot of neurotic people in the left wing I must point out that we don't go about bombing random countries and talking about being the chosen leaders of God, that's the right wing's deal, not outs. So as I said, that was not a redundant statement. And the idea that the left wing movements in Palestine and Iraq (excepting the abhorred actions of the Tawhid and Jyhad groups) are terrorists is absurd and I take great exception to it. The Intifadahs in Iraq and Palestine are waged by people fighting foreign agression for their freedom. When ones country is being invaded by a hostile army one is allowed to take whatever action possible to remove said army. Therefore I hold all members of the Palestinian uprising and Iraqi resistance (excepting the aforementioned terrorists such as Al Zarqawi) to be freedom fighters and not terrorists. Sorry, that just pisses me off a bit...

In a later interview the toddler was reported to have said, "I was trying to get the hell out of here before those glorious Americans obliterate my village in the name of Democracy." And then later, "If it comes down to Bush's idea of "liberation" or the perils of a scorching dessert in southeast Iran I will very quickly take my chances with the sands of death."

Actually as it turns out the boy was really rescued by a very lost US coast guard vessel and has been declared a political refugee. He is currently living with his uncle Georgi Bushza who has claimed custody of him to help him escape from the harsh opression of his totalitarian family in Iran. The boy was quoted as saying "But my dad's not a dictator..." and was then hustled back behind closed doors.

You can tell Ninja Duck has been watching too much Fox News lately. I like using the slander the right puts out against us as sarcasm occasionally. Mmm... doublespeak...

Also, hi, #1 Mom, since you were reading this thread at the same time I was.

ND- Damn, sorry, it's so hard to tell sometimes, that's why I prefer to use the html tags [a href=satyre] or [align=sarcasm] sorry for going off, just gotta defend my side and all and I'm used to people saying that in a serious manner.

It's all good. If I ever need to know about various radical Middle Eastern sects, I know who to ask. smile.gif
