Gods hasn't aged as well as other platformers, the dodgy movement grinds these days. The intro tune was cool though. if you had an amiga. Pc versions were always worse on the music front.

Has anyone got round to mentioning Elite (BBC model B ) on this board yet? or are we al traumatised by trying to dock with the space stations?

WOO! Chaos Engine...loved it!
what about a similar game 'Alien Breed' (I had 1,2 and 'Tower Assualt')

-{edit was me remembering the name 'Tower Assualt, btw}

My all time fave game is Asteroids, from when I played it on my Amiga... I had a really cool version (suped up graphics, 2-player and with special moves - shield/hyperspace/flip [you only got one] )

I played The Legend of Zelda a bit more last night, t'was the only gaming fun I had last night. Does any1 know where to find level2 on the original TLOZ? I've found and finished several other levels after it, I just can't find level2!

peace out

Alien Breed? Brings back memories of running out of keys\ammo and trying to knaw my own am of in frustation. Good game though, made by team17 i think (who also made a rather cool sideways shooter caled project X)before they went down the worms route.
Didn't play tower assault, The PC had claimed to computer front by that point.

There's supposed to be chaos engine sequel, but i never got round to buying it.

Anyone ever play Dreamweb? not the best game ever, but it had a strangely compelling storyline.

Darkseed was just creepy, looked damn good though.

No insult to worms. A classic piece of design that's still fun. 3D versions a bit questionable. I just miss the days when Team17 game us other games. BRING BACK ALIEN BREED! And whilst I'm ranting, someone go kick what's left of system 3 and get them to remake the last ninja.

The student's union used to have an old gauntlet machine in first year, perfect for resting you pint on whilst you played. gaming cross dressed as the Valkyrie myself. I thought it had the gender ambiguious elf instead of the archer? She turned up in the 3d versions i think.

Currently replaying Creatures(c64) and Turrican 2 (amiga). What happen to these developers?

I remember Turrican 2. We got it at the same time as Gods, so I didn't play it much. As such, my memories are sadly lacking.

Good, cause Worms is pure genius! Words 3D is indeed questionable, I've got it for my GC and it is good, its just it seems a little too easy (aiming with the bazooka for example) and some of the weapons are absolutely pointless, like the bloody viking axe...what? its used to half a worms hitpoints, bit useless considering your worms hardly ever die of hitpoints! gimme a baseball bat any day, or a dragonpunch, or thou holy poke! jetpack is good though!

A new vamped version of Alien Breed would rock, they could use 'X-Box Live!' to lpay online together, goin around shooting tough aliens and treading on landmines together! hmm.... *calls Team 17*

thumbsup.gif they are considering... thumbsup.gif

I think remember Turrican! is that a srolling shooter?

Have you ever played a game called "Lords of War"? it was a game where you controlled a quater of the screen (where your castle was) and it played like 'PONG', you had to protect your castle while attacking the other players' castles. It was really challenging... blink.gif

One of my all time fave games for the Amiga was 'Dizzy', I know he starred on other consoles before... but my first com was the Amiga. It was really fun when I was like 5, I loved that little egg! biggrin.gif

What ever happened to James Pond? huh.gif

We had James Pond 2: Robocod. I remember it as being really hard, but that may be because I was like 7.

James pond disappeared after a nasty press exposed penguin addiction.

Turrican ws the sideways scroller. Ripped off lots of other games (you could go into a ball like metroid). had some cool flight sections as well. Can't remember who made it, There were lots of good developer\publishers back then, in the microprose heyday.

Dizzy? 'Grinds teeth' HOW MANY TIMES CAN I FALL OFF A SHARK FIN?!?! between the random deaths, and the loot hungry girlfriend, He's just not up to the challenge these days. Time to drop him in the frying pan.

Have distant memories of lords of war, but I might be mixed up with Rampart.

Lords of midnight on the other hand......
