MC: THis friend in London, who's getting the copies for you, could order them with Credit Card from New Line. I don't know that'd be faster, of course.

Experience however has taught me that if you want something to get somewhere in a few days, no matter what, you just have to be willing to pay the extra to send it first class air mail.

I wouldn't sweat it, however. January is as good a time as any to get a movie you've waited all these months for. You'll just have to put up with Movie Goer praising and/or damning it in these forums for two weeks while you beg him to wait.
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).

Well, my friend is also anti-credit card. He sends them a cheque, and of course he has to wait for the cheque to clear.

But you see, I would not want him to pay more for my whims than it is really necessary. He has already been way too patient with me than anyone else.

And as I have already waited so long, it would not hurt me to wait a little longer. I have my Blackadder cheap DVDs to watch over Christmas, so I guess I am ok. I am only afraid that someone else will start the appreciation thread and will beat me to my "reasons why ROTK sucks ultimately compared to FOTR" biggrin.gif
ANd I am sure JYAMG will be a sport and won't do it himself, will you?

I am green with envy. My computer at work does not have Quicktime installed. And I have not got the admin rights to do install it myself.

But when it finally comes... It WILL rock. I just cannot wait to see Faramir and myself finally coming together... smile.gif

Yep. And don't worry, I will hold off any commentary until you've seen the thing. By the way, since you come to this thread often, did you get that novel I emailed you? Just wondering.

By the way, since you come to this thread often, did you get that novel I emailed you? Just wondering.

And Barend - what have they done on this site? They automatically put this notice on the linked picture? Very clever of them.

No, I didn't sad.gif .
There might have been a problem with the address.
Could you please send it again? Please! I have just put another e-mail in my profile, it might work this time. I hope the attachment is not too big, I have a dial-up at home.

And thanks for remembering and asking!

And Barend - what have then done on this site? Did they automatically tracked the linked image and added this little warning? Very clever of them!

Madam Corvax, I sent the novel to you again, using the new email address. I hope it reaches you this time and I also hope you enjoy it. smile.gif

It can give you something to do while waiting for this DVD. cool.gif

And Barend, those pictures are very cool. I feel for Madam Corvax, having to wait longer than us to see this thing for herself. But I am sure that it will be worth the wait...

... it's also what we should have seen in the cinema instead of that half-botch job with the choppy editing that we got instead.

JYAMG - my husband reports from home that the novel reached the address ... that was quick - can't wait to get home to start reading... expect some critical remarks, though!

Critical remarks are very welcome.... I want to polish this thing as best as I can, so don't hold back if you think some aspects could be improved.

Anyway, I'm glad it arrived. And I hope you enjoy it.

not enough people here are interested in LOTR...

bah!

everyone sucks!!!

that's right... i'm holding my own project hostage!!!

Jay-zus, Barend, don't do this...
What to you want me to do to entice you to continue the work?
Agree to appear in a bikini in the spoof? (which is more than I have done to JYAMG, mind you)
Make a tray of sandwiches with lembas butter and jelly(o) for everyone?
Say "won't dignify this with a response" every secon post?

Oh gosh, mate, don't be so Australian...Whatever that means...

My God, Barend! Did you hear that offer? For you, Madam Corvax is giving exclusive permission to put her fetching Eowyn avatar into a bikini. ohmy.gif

If that doesn't persuade you, I don't know what will.

Also, remember that sometimes we get a lot of people reading the threads and sometimes hardly anybody. With my own movie outings, for instance, everyone requested one about the prequels... and when I finally finished it, I only got about three or four responses. Dismally depressing. But I kept going and with the last venture, got a few more.

And also, aren't you getting any satisfaction out of this project for yourself? If it's no fun to you at all, why bother in the first place?

Anyway, we'd be very disappointed if you closed the curtain, mate. Hang in there.... you'll get fresh reviews.

And the reason it ended up on page 2 of the Lobby was probably because of all those Lobby groupies compulsively starting new threads all the time. So take out the Lobby groupies and then it'll be no problem. cool.gif
