OK, I decided to make a separate thread where we can talk about this, because the people who haven't played it keep complaining that we're hijacking the other discussions. I know there's a KOTOR thread in the Video Games section, but that's more about the technical aspects of the game. So this is a 'spoilery' thread to discuss anything else about KOTOR - storyline, favourite characters, best lines etc.

I'll start with my favourite line of dialogue in the game. While pretty much all of HK-47's lines are brilliant, my all-time favourite is actually one of the PC responses. When Carth teases Bastila about losing her lightsaber after the crash on Taris, you can respond: "Maybe losing lightsabers is a side effect of her Battle Meditation." laugh.gif

Feel free to continue...

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

I liked the fact you could turn just about any damned person, and all the npc sidequests. just about any dark jedi who didnt immediately try to murder you was a guy you could turn to the light side. I loved that.

But hijacking threads was the fun part! Oh well, where to begin...
Story structure is one of the most interesting parts. I love the fact that they manage to seamlessly blend location based encounters with time based encounters. And unless you take the time to compare your game to a friends it's really difficult to tell which is which.

Alright let's see your character toplists. I posted mine in a hijacked thread but here goes again:

1. Mission Vao, coolest Twi'lek rogue in the galaxy!
2. HK-47 'nuff said!
3. Bastila Shan, one of the best written characters, greatest Jedi!
4. Canderous Ordo, simply for being a bad-ass Mandalorian!

My favourite characters:

1. HK-47. Needs no explanation.
2. Bastila Shan. Wow, a character with an English accent who isn't evil! biggrin.gif Seriously, though, she's an interesting and well-developed character as well.
3. Jolee Bindoo. His irreverent attitude makes a refreshing change from the rather stuffy, formal speech of the other Jedi.
4. Juhani. Awww, she's so sweet! I kept wanting to pat her on the head and say "there, there, little one."

My Character

Name: Veronica

Sex: Female

Class: Soldier/Consular

Weapon of Choice: Red, double bladed light sabre

Force Power of Choice: Death, Lightining, Statsis

Favorite Character

First Place: HK-47 - Nuff said

Second Place: Balistia- She fell to the darkside with me. And heck, have you seen her with no clothes/armor on?

Most hated Character

First, Second, Third, and Fourth Place : Carth- My only regret in the game was not killing him. He ran away like a little bitch while Zalabaar and Mission stayed back and fought. I killed them of course.

Favorite Race

The Rakatan (sp?) They were the best race in the game, if not the SW universe. They had a terrific look to them- very old and savage. The rise and fall of their great empire was good side story. It was one of the few dialogue moments that I did not skip through. We probably won't see much more of them again sad.gif Their homeworld was very Robinson Crusoe, I loved it. The idea of space ships accidentally coming to close the to Star Forge and then crashing down to the surface of the planet was awesome. The crew would be eaten by the Rakatan and the ships would be scrapped. What a life style, certainly a far cry from the once great empire that stretched over the entire galaxy.

Thing I never Understood

What was the point of Yavin?

Yavin was a little 'extra' for PC owners that wasn't included in the original Xbox version.

My least favourite character was T3-M4. I think he was meant to be similar to R2-D2, but unlike Artoo he had absolutely no personality whatsoever. Zaalbar came a close second - almost nothing to say for himself.

I think my two favorite moments in the game were when master Vandar first says "May the force be with you" it's just like "holy fuck he just said that to ME" and my second favorite was the guy who shoved himself in a locker and talks about the fishies on Manaan.

As for my favorite characters Jolee Bindo takes first place easily just because he was kinda funny and certainly not just a copy of Obi Wan from the OT.

Second place goes to Mission's brother just cuz he was funny.

And third has to go to Canderous just for general bad assedness

As for the ones I didn't like I couldn't stand the little droid and I really hated the stubby little bounty hunter.

Zalbaar wasn't very personable but he had a sweet side quest and although I got to dislike Carth in the early moments of the game he proved to be a cool guy when more of his history came out.

Runner up for my favorite character would be Yuthura who had a really bad-ass backstory if you played like that.

Damn, I'm the only one who likes Mission. She can be an annoying little brat but I just found her sooo endearing wub.gif I'm not surprised about Bastilas (or, ahem, my own smile.gif ) popularity though.

I know exactly what you mean. There were many moments of Star Wars magic in the game. And the fact that these came from storytelling and atmosphere certainly credits the creators. This is what will be critical for KOTOR 2. I just hope they get it right. Very few previews so far though. I've actually only seen one new character you can play, the "easy-on-the-eyes" female bounty hunter with wrist blaster. Give me HK and Mission!!

I love the part, just because it's a great little nod to ANH, when you're captured and you're being interrogated as to where the Jedi are, and you're choices are either Dantooine or Alderaan, phrased the exact same way as Leia said, "Dantooine. They're on Dantooine," to Tarkin in ANH. I just thought that was really cool. And my favorite character is me. Cause I'm just awesome.

Yeah, that's probably my second favourite line.

Ahh, characters.

Fav is obviously HK-47. Mission was good, but I never had her with me because she wasn't very useful(I'm more the fighter type). I didn't think much of Juhani, and I hated Zabaar(as I hate all wookies).

Oh, and Jordan, it is possible to kill Carth wink.gif

What was the point of Yavin?

If you keep going to Yavin after each planet (Dantooine included), talk to the guy / ask him all the question /be good pals and all, the 4th time you go there (doesn't matter if you go 4 times at once. You must complete a planet inbetween the visits), well: the 4th time you go there you'll be helping the guy with some 'problems'. As a result he's more than willing to sell you (for 50.000 credits !!) two crystals(hmm. forgot the names).

They make an amber/orange and blueish color on the light sabers... looks kinda gay, but the bonuses are quite enough for me to give up on my red lightsabers.

Ok, I got a little technical.. but you asked...
I know that you believe you understood what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you read is not what I meant.

I've only gotten to play the good side and see the ending where you save Bastila. Can anyone be so good as to describe the other endings (I'm so curious about the evil endings, lure of the dark side and all)
