I played on some v-drums last week at a Guitar Center opening event. LOUD! FUN!

A friend of mine has the Roland V-drums. They are amazing beyond belief!! More fun than anything. If I had money burning a hole in my pocket I'd pick some up. smile.gif

And I play the piano. My crowning achievements were learning Beethoven's first movement of his piano solo #14 in c# minor, op. 27 via sheet music (I'm dreadful at sight reading), and a piano transcription for the Zelda 2 Temple music which I developed by playing by ear. I'm learning George Winston's variation's on the Canon, I'm a little over half-way but my motivation died six weeks ago, or I might be done with it by now. Next up is more by ear video game music, hopefully moderately obscure (I'm the only person I know who actually liked Zelda 2). I'm thinking FF1, or maybe something from Mario 3/Super Mario World. I know those games are popular, but who plays the songs from them?

I've been meaning to implement samples from old NES songs into my Ageispolis work. So far: nothing.

I'm 23. Is it too late for me to pick up guitar? I've wanted to play it bad for 2 years now, but never got my act together.

I hate school, and hate my courses, and hate just about everything else. I want to do music for relaxation and happiness. Also, I want to have the potential to become a rock star.

It's never too late! Especially if it's for the reasons you've given (minus 'rock star', but that helps wink.gif ).
I've been playing for about 5 years now and i sound like a 2nd year student at best. It's just a hobby, i have no real aspirations (anymore). Even so, if my hand hasn't touched a fretboard in a week or two i get really tense.

On a side note: I'm currently trying to learn 'Horizons' by Steve Hackett on guitar. From a tab. This is mostly an excercise in dexterity for me. I can play about 7/10 of it alright but there are some stubborn bits in there, plus i don't have the feeling that Steve puts into it. but i like playing it anyway.

Another 'conquest': about a year ago i figured out and tabbed some basic melodies from certain Final Fantasy Tactics songs.

I'm not a bad singer, and I started writing songs like last year, I'm really want to play live. I've never done it, but am pal of mine is in a band, he's a wicked guitar player. It's indie rock, Their head singer sucks shit, so I might take a stab at it. I don't need to play a guitar to join, but I would like to have the skills so that I could have the option to play rythm or something.
