I've only ever managed to do one back flip in my entire life, and that was by accident.

Falling off of a trampoline.

When I was nine. dry.gif

I can't bring myself to attempt a backflip. I used to try and do them into the pool when I was a kid, but I came down hard on my back and it hurt like hell, and now I'm too afraid to try.

I had the same problem doing normal ones off the diving board, only I think I would either end up with a belly flop (big ouch), of with water up my nose...not pleasant experiences...that and I was always paranoid of hitting my head or face on the board as I fell.

Yeah, I can't do flips at all. I've tried front flips on trampolines, but I don't get enough height.

WAY better than shotgunning a beer. But isn't it rather a bad idea to combine beverages and backflips? We've all heard about you Australians ...

And genrally it's all true. It does take a little practice to drink and flip though. biggrin.gif

Strangely enough it is easier (once you've done them) to do a back somersault than it is a front somersault. You seem to have more time to go through the motion backwards - plus you can spot when you're throwing yourself backwards. You don't know you're coming up short forwards until you hit the ground early. ohmy.gif

But how good are you at DDR? That's what's important.

Gah! Dance Dance Revolution, of course. That big ole arcade machine which always has two people flipping out on it. Big pad with arrows on it, you have to follow the steps on screen, goes in beat with the music...

I saw a kid doing that in this giant arcade during out band trip to Texas...it was almost hypnotic...I think I stood there watching for ten solid minutes.

In Kagoshima, I once saw two guys walk into an arcade, go strait to the DDR machine, put it on two players at the hardest difficulty level, proceeded to get double perfects on every single step, finished up with a perfect score, then walked out without a backwards glance. Whenever I think my life is sad, I think of them, and suddenly I'm not so bad.

That is fantastic. We've ALL got a life now... and we owe it all to those two gits in Kagoshima.
