Let me be the next to say, Season's Greetings.

Does everybody know what a drive-by shooting is?

And everyone knows what a nativity scene is? good.

a few years ago I saw, advertised: "drive through nativity scene, 6-9pm"
and it got me thinking.

know what a "drive-by" nativity is?

it's where this young family has a frightening dream, grabs their belongings in the middle of the night and flees for their lives. THEN, these Romans scare the hell out of everyone as they start breaking into people's houses and killing the baby boys.

Merry Christmas, everybody.

Why do we celebrate All Hallow's Eve, but not All Hallow?

Halloween is the same as All Hallow's Eve. All Hallow remains out of the public attention.

Let's give a big cheer for comercialisation...

Still All Hallow is still celebrated to some extent as All Saints Day followed by All Souls Day. Again for efficiency sake people tend to now combine All Saints & All Souls into Nov 1st celebration. Not that it can really be called a celebration anymore either given the focus on Halloween. I mean now that's a celebration!

if we celebrate all hallows eve, or halloween, then isn't there a hallow day, or all hallows day, and if so, why not celebrate that too. two days of puking sugar. laugh.gif

Technically all Christians celebrate All Hallows Day. That's what All Saint's Day is, falling on Nov 1st. All Souls Day falls on Nov 2nd. They don't have the same commercial significance as Halloween as such you don't really hear as much about them.

Got it! And it was gooood!

Yeah being Australian's barend and I have a strong affinity with holiday's. We are happy to adopt any holiday from any culture if it has even the remotest chance of getting us a do off.

I'm thinking of starting a push to establish All Saints and All Souls as a two day holiday designed to properly celebrate the passing of the Saints and the subsequent souls that followed them. And the most appropriate way to do this is to commercialize it by linking it to a good beer.
