Fear not, for I bring tidings of a day celebrating Canada.

...That's all I wanted to say, really.

I like to think of Canada day as a time to celebrate a proclamation signed by the Governor General, Lord Monck, that called upon all Her Majesty's loving subjects throughout Canada to join in the celebration of the anniversary of the formation of the union of the British North America provinces in a federation under the name of Canada on July 1st.

On a similar subject, locally, the 4th of July celebration is today, because the city council was afraid people wouldn't go to church... in order to see fireworks at night... if the 4th of July was actually on July 4th.

Hmm, that seems a bit strange. Why would the council care if you go to church? Isn't there supposed to be a segregation between church and state?

This is the Deep South we're talking about here. Here, you get all your political news and opinions from the preacher, and anyone who supports Kerry is simply a freak.

Also, we add "at" to the end of sentences when we're wondering about the location of something.

Thats...scary. People relying on the church for political advise seems to worry me.

Yes, it's very creepy. I don't know how it is in other areas, but here, when the preacher needs to write a new sermon, he just takes the Republican party platform and mixes the sentences. Today, he talked about Reagan's optimism, and how he feels the least optimistic about the nation now than he ever did. He went on to mention how the very thought of gay marriage or abortions broke his heart, and he couldn't believe how people could possibly not support our troops 100%. He didn't even mention how Iraqi prisoners are being tortured, and our own soldiers are being executed just for occupying Iraq.

Next time, I'm bringing a book.

Yeah, books.

What are you doing in church again?

Me, I learned about Jesus on the street.
