Is that really true, though? I had never heard that until that Teen USA pageant. I find it hard to believe that 20% of this huge population (that would mean millions of people) can't find the U.S. on a map. I understand a smaller percentage, because of poorer places with less education, but come on. I can't find any stats anywhere that says 20% of Americans don't know where the U.S. is, but I'd love to see them if they exist.
After watching that jaywalk allstars on Leno, and many other things that have crossed my path, as well as Miss Teen South Carolina and like such as...
this statistc is unquestionabley likely.
It’s a common misinterpretation that people from the United States are stupid. Listen to me when I say this; I have met 3 Americans in my lifetime, one from Mississippi, one from Georgia and one from New York and I can say for sure that Americans are not stupid... but they are arrogant smegs.
The only americans you have spoken to are ones who know how to use computers and ones who could find australia on a map and fly there.
I'm not saying americans are stupid. Just that all coutries have a percentage of stupid people, and america just happens to have a large population (and a lot of guns and nukes) which puts them under heavier scrutiny. I'm sure Russia, China, and India enjoy a large celebration of idiots who make life just wonderfull too. Australia is no walk through a cerebral wonderland either.
the world is mostly idiots who amaze me by remembering to breath in and out.
