I don't know what it is. Some felt that anakin's transformation to the dark side was a perfect sum of all the event leading up to it. Others felt that is was arbitrary and unconvincing. I concur with the latter. Not rapping on you other peops. It just didn't do it for me. Yoda was the only character I felt bad for during the whole film.

As previously stated, he was not a wuss. He had yet to fully embrace his darkness, and he partly mourned what he was doing.
So when did he fully flip?
After Padme and Obi-Wan 'turn' on him then????
....I still think him crying there makes no sense....

Anakin trying to redeem himself after the death of Dooku, that theory does not do it for me. I believe the only reason Anakin stops Mace is to delay Padme's death. Remember, way back when, when SW movies had tales of redemption? Like Han redeeming himself after slaying Greedo, before GL felt the need to tamper and destroy that subplot? And Vader sacrificing himself to the emperor's power to end the empire's tyrranical rule? Weren't those the days??? Now it seems GL is as shallow as a rain puddle.

When exactly did Han redeem himself? As I remember, Greedo was telling Han he was going to kill him, and Han shot Greedo. That's not bad. That's called self-preservation, and if you're not interested in it, then you're going to end up dead.

No, remember Greedo says he is going to "turn him over" to Jabba. In the original, Han kills Greedo in what is argueably cold blood, I can see how it looks like self defense. Jaba does not even seem that worried about the money he owes him in the added scene. He then redeems himself by helping Luke outside the Deathstar. Lucas changed a defining moment for Han Solo's character. By having Greedo shoot first, Han is defending himself. In the original cut,if Han agreed to sumbit to Greedo, he would have faced Jaba, but probably not his death. I am pretty sure this is more than a theory, I guess it depends on if you think Greedo's death was justified. It seems Han shot him just because he is a scoundrel.

Han snuck that gun out pretty early in the conversation...
he shot first because he didn't want to get taken in...
greedo doesn't say anything threatening until han says he's not going with him.
han didn't have the money... and the less times he'd have show up infront of jabba and tell him the better!!!
i would have done the same thing.
it was cool that han killed him, it wasn't nice, but he had to do it.
changing it was just a girly pussy thing to do and robbed the character of journey.

It is tragic that GL changed that scene! I did not mean to sound like I was defending the change. The original cut allows the audience to see the lovable scoundrel side of Solo, and it sets the stage for Han to make up for the life he ended. Greedo shooting first is stupid, he didn't even graze Han from four feet away! I don't know, Roger Ebert said something about it. Truly tragic.

Yeah but in GL's twisted universe, Han can't kill one alien in cold blood, "because redemption isn't hip" (or something along those lines he muttered to Variety) Yet Anakin can kill innocent children, numbers of them, and his redemption is acceptable. This logic only makes sense in the George Lucas universe

I don't think Hans actions concerning Greedo even needs redeeming. Greedo basically tells him he's gonna shoot him then and there.
"If you give it to me (the money) I might forget I found you"
"Over my dead body"
"That's the idea, I've been waiting for this a long time *readies blaster*"
"Yes I bet you have..."
Hans choice is to shoot first or die himself. It's that simple.
