of Montreal - Satanic Panic in the Attic
Stereolab - Margerine Eclipse
Brian Wilson - Smile
Fiery Furnaces - Blueberry Boat
probably 'Death From Above 1979' and 'Panda Bear' too. And other 2004 releases i may not hear until years from now.
I'd mention all the old stuff that i happened to 'discover' this year too, but there is a lot.

Slipknot "The Subliminal Verses"
Killswitch Engage "The End of Heartache"
Papa Roach "Getting Away With Murder"
The Eighties... "The Royal Society" (provisionly, but any CD with Mister Mental on it kicks more ass than Jackie Chan wearing clogs)
Green Day "American Idiot" (also provisionly)

-Bjork - "Medulla"
-Cradle Of Filth - "Nymphetamine"
-K-Os - "Joyful Rebellion"
And another honourable mention for "Encore" by Eminem. It falls short of his previous albums, but it still has some of his strongest work to date on it. Seeing him take on things that he KNEW would be trouble (Michael Jackson, George W Bush and the war on terrorism, etc) helped revitalize my interest in him as both a lyricist and as a performer overall.

I've yet to hear any more of "Nymphetamine" than Gilded Cunt, but if it follows in that vein...

I definately have to also vote in American Idiot. Fucking brilliant in its way. I'm actually wearing my concert T from Nov 5th up here in Rochester today. Coincidence? You betcha.
Although that's the only newly released CD I bought this year. The only other ones I bought were Soundgarden's Superunknown and Smashing Pumpkin's Siamese Dream. But if this was top picks of 1993 (or of all time) they'd be there!
