All four of mine have been coming in ever so slowly for about a year now, and still haven't finished. I've actually been rather lucky with them, since both of my brothers had to get theirs removed or had extras that had to be cut out.
Check out my crappy drawings!

Chyld is an ignorant slut.

Did you only get one wisdom tooth removed? My BF is getting 4 removed. I'm really worried...lol

that'll probably mean a trip to the hospital and gas of some kind, so I imagine it wont be too bad.

QUOTE
Well, for a wisdom tooth surgery you look pretty relaxed, Jariten

well, i'm brave like that

Rhubs: You don't think David Duchoveny is sexy? BLASPHEMY!

Wisdom teeth: I had all four of them removed over the summer. They knocked me out for it, when I woke up I was pretty fucked up and cranky most of the day, I hat to have cotton in my mouth for two days and then my face was swollen and I couldn't eat solid food for two weeks.

My appearance: I try to remain neutral on it, though the self-loathing tries to step in every now and then. I've been told I'm cute a few times, though it's always solicited, except for this one gay guy I met online, and mi madre. I remember I used to be frequently called ugly over and over again by assholes in school during the times of yesteryear when I was developing a self-image and people skills, that's probably why I hate people and think so lowly of myself. The more I think about it, the more glad I am I didn't bother trying to get to know most of the people in my school. Stupid xenophobic sheep, all of them.

Jariten: Actually, I am a spindly armed skull on an old timey bike, I just wear a human mask and a hat to hide it.

Yep! And I went to visit my now sort of ex pseudo-not-quite-girlfriend after I'd had them out for a week. Thankfully I looked slightly less like a chipmunk and wasn't in pain at that point.

And Barend: I'll bet if the real God was more like you, the world would be a better place... Hell, look at how cool Greek mythology is! Only Zeus and Co. could have come up with that.

After a week you looked better.. alright. lol
Just taking mental notes. I've been told several stories about people having their wisdom teeth taken out (most of them relatives / friends) so I'm trying to get a rough idea? It's gonna happen to him in June though, so I guess I should just wait and avoid him when it happens... lol.

That's enough about this!

When my wisdom teeth were turned to dust, I turned into Icey the Hamsterboy, my parents tortured me the whole time by buying my favorite food the entire week. I had to try to eat it all and it hurt, hurt like the seven hells. It took me half an hour just to eat a slice of pizza, OK?

Two years, here. I have no idea whether they've stopped or not. No idea if I'll have to have any out. My teeth are already kind of crooked, but it's in a really cool way that pushes my canines into prominence and looks like I have werewolf fangs. Why do people need wisdom teeth extracted anyway?

Slade, yeah, well pretty much everyone I know who's been convinced that they're ugly was totally not so. Myself being one of them. Knowing that the paranoia is bullshit doesn't help much either. It's just a confidence thing. People respond well to other people who just act as if they knew they're attractive. If you act shy and dress down, people tend to think of you the same way as you think of yourself. On first impressions, at least.

My wisdom teeth seem to be happy where they are, and one tiny flappy bit of gum aside (you wanted to hear, right?) I'm all good.

maybe this deserved a thread of its own...hmmm. ok perhaps not. anyway, the one I had out was only half way out and causing me a few problems, the biggest being I couldnt clean it properly and it wouldve eventually meant that I would have to have not only the wisdom tooth out but also the tooth next to it. why are they called wisdom teeth anyway?

Something about getting them when you're older, so that means you're wiser.

As far as teeth go, they get pulled so they don't push the rest of your teeth out of alignment -- not everyone would be so fortunate as Rhubarb to like the effect!

LTTS -- on the other hand, your boyfriend could luck out. I had two removed in the morning (I only had 2 wisdom teeth, meaning I am only half as wise as I should be!), woke up from the anesthesia, had an asprin, and I was eating solid food by dinner that night. It can be horrific, it can be swell! I hope he lucks out.

I wish we had a toothy (and toothsome) smiley -- until then: biggrin.gif

Rhubs: Jeans/Khakis and a T-Shirt, throw in a hat every now and then or a hawaiian shirt. Causal with a dash of oddity all the way for me, every day. (Except when being formal/semi-formal is required.)

However, I can be very shy. Depends on the situation and my current mood, and how people react to me initially.

Jen: That's not fair at all. How did you dodge chipmunk face and only milkshakes for a week?

LttS: I was still needing to spray water in my mouth to get food out of the holes for a month after the teeth were taken out. They close up slowly.

Barend - I love the tiara. Did you actually wear it or is "photoshopped"?

it was a tight fit... I wore it.

Rhub- it's from a segment called GOD SAYS... I'm GOD, and each week i look different... we shot shot several on that day and all the costumes came from a rather sweet cute girl who works on the show who rumaged through her bedroom to find stuff to be thrown on me.

that was the last shoot of the day, and we just made a compilation of costume parts...
the white thing i'm wearing is an elvis cape (on backwards)[i was elvis in one]
the taira was just in the bag, the thing around my neck was the greek leefy head band, and the lay was from god knows where, the beer always within reach and the producer just found the presentational skateboard in another room (of the production company).

and the irish accent was to throw everyone off...

and thanx jen blushing.gif
