the gays, I'm talking about the gays. maybe it's my fault for growing up outside of san francisco though...

george cukor is a director of the last century who made lots of movies for women, such as Little Women. precusors of the chick flicks. he was a closeted gay.

I...um.

I have no idea what you just said. Mary's? Mo's? Who are George Cukor and David Sedaris? You lost me.

George Cukor was a famous gay director. wink.gif

Dear god, I HATE "chick flicks"...

I don't really watch much current TV except for just a few particular shows (and most of them are downloaded), and the places I've lived don't exactly have what you might call a thriving (or even noticeable) gay culture. That, and I honestly don't care enough other people's sexual preferences to really pay attention.

(Except for some of those occasions when I find out a guy is gay, and a little voice in the back of my head goes, "DAMMIT!" because then fancying him just feels kind of wrong. Kind of like checking out or crushing on a guy, then finding out he's already with someone.)

well it's not their sexuality I'm talking about. I'm not saying boys are better cause some of us do some others of us in the butt. I'm talking mainly about gay men and their culture, it's pretty fab, and it's cooler than gay girl culture. thereby giving boys more points.

anyway chick flicks used to be good, like fifty years ago

compare your basic chick flick plot of boy meets 'most beautiful girl in the ________' falls in love hijinks, get to gether, hijinks, things are looking good, secret from the past ruins everything, but a big mushy jesture solves everything, every freakin time.

to for instance the plot of Bringing Up Baby (carey grant and katherine hepburn)

engaged boy meets annoying girl, misunderstandings abound, girl drags boy into her problems pertaining to a leopard, boy continues to be annoyed by girl, everybody ends up in jail, later boy realises he likes girl for reasons he can't understand, they get together, the end.

more realistic anyway, you girls are a pain in the ass, but it's somehow endearing. (probably works visa versa)

I do agree that the old movies you're talking about are a lot better than today's "chick flicks" (I'm with Janey - I hate chick flicks). However, I think your argument on how male GBLT culture is cooler than its female counterpart is pretty weak.

And besides, another reason girls are better is because we're more creative when we aim to get revenge.
I am writing about Jm in my signature because apparently it's an effective method of ignoring him.

I've personally known only dorky older lesbians with lots of dogs and adopted children, while the gay men I've known are funny bitches who match their clothes and party all night. but that hardly qaulifies me to say the whole of male gays are better than the whole of female gays

so maybe it is a weak argument, but so is the argument that one sex is better than the other.

you know I've never actually known any boy to actually seek revenge for anything more complicated than 'he did frivilous x so I'm gonna beat his ass' whereas I have heard of girls in instances of 'he/she did subtle but outragous x so I hate him/her and am going to do nothing but think of horrible subtle ways to destroy them' so yeah you got me there

optimus...I have no idea why ohno_stereo reminds you of an olympic skater...

That's not even slightly true.

You all consult Cosmo until you find an article written by bitter middle aged woman who hasn't had a man in 15-25 years who is telling everyone the secrets to great long lasting relationships.

'boyfirend forgot your birthday? put a virus on his work computer'

and etc.

Revenge is a man's world.

Infact I've vowed to only date women with younger sisters from now on, so that when she eventually screws me over I can tap into all her deepest insecurities and mess her right up by rebounding on her sister.
bwah hahahahhaha.
