11/24/2002 Archived Entry: "Wonderful Weekend"
For some reason November 24th is a date I always associate with Thanksgiving day. Every year I am shocked (and astonished!) that Thanksgiving falls on anything other than November 24th even though clearly it is one of those holiday's whose date is forever shifting in time.
Jen came to visit me this weekend and we had a wonderful time. We went to many different places including Neath's where I had one of the four greatest meals of my life. We also just hung around and did nothing of any great value other than watch part of the movie Homefries and go to Target. But does it really get any better than that? I bought wrapping paper so I consider that an unofficial beginning to my Christmas shopping.
I feel kinda bad that I haven't written anything in a good long while but I've been kinda busy. This whole "having a job" thing is totally putting a cramp on my ability to do web-related projects. They actually expect me to spend a minimum of seven hours a day there! Of course I'm trying to perfect a method of working on the web sites from work so that way it would be like I was getting paid. And the best part is that would be coming right out of the taxpayer's pockets!!
I should have taken Jen to meet my parents this weekend but I am a terrible son/boyfriend so I didn't. We had very little time and over the two-week "planning" phase of one of our visits we usually cram so many little silly things into our agenda that it just wasn't feasible. It is hard to do so much in a mere 48 hours. Oh the hectic agenda I keep!
My parents will soon be asking me what I want for Christmas so I will have to begin thinking. I've got a few ideas so if you are reading this, Mom and Dad, I will have a list prepared for you shortly.

I too found the NotMyDesk articles to be both witty and uplifting. I im'd him on aim after reading them to say they were nice, and he said "thanks!", then i said something else complimentary and he responded, "thanks". Its the longest conversation we've ever had.

You should try emailing him. It's the same way except with three week pauses in between.
On another note: how come horrible livejournal won't let me make a freakin' comment on your blog? I can either post as anonymous (clearly unacceptable) or as a registered livejournal user. I'm tempted to get a livejournal just so that I can post comments on you and absinthe's journals. Can you email me an activation code?
