Well, you guys have heard it before that I have had success with contacting peoples on the internet and talking about their works.

Today, I received an invitation from a past guest artist for sluggy freelance to join his board gaming group, after he found out I was in the local area and a fellow board gamer.

Next up: email al gore to congratulate him on inventing the internet, then smash him in the face with a brick when he invites me over for nachos.

Did we? When?

And which guest artist would this be then? Details, man!

It got mentioned in... a thread... somewhere.

But I do remember reading it.

it's been mentioned several places.
The last time, I think, was in one of those threads about zero punctuation type videos, with a series having to do with games and education.
The time before that, someone commented that they didn't think it was worth it to contact an internet artist and I gave a short parable about the number of times I was successful.

I'm going to let you guys guess for a while, until I reveal which guest artist. It's fairly easy to guess, really. Particularly, if, somehow, you know where I live.

Although step one would be being a Sluggy Freelance reader, and as a result, I have fallen at the first hurdle.

that is true.

You could start however, sluggy freelance ain't half bad. Once you get past the initial comics.

I might give it a shot. I'm not a big comic fan, even less so webcomics (Although I do confess to the odd titter over Pixel Pals), but why the hell not, eh?

heh, I find that webcomics can have a surprising level of depth lacking in normal comics.

CAN have.

Are CAPABLE of.

Most, nay, all but perhaps six or seven, five or six of which i have not personally read, have no depth worth speaking of.

(that being said, if you like absurdity, math, food, and depth of characters, read triangle and robert straight through until the end. It fails to be any good till about 3/4 of the way through, which makes everything before then totally worth having read it.)

Morning Glory is one of my favouritest things ever, and definitely my favourite webcomic.

I should warn people though, it's probably the most NSFW thing ever.

EDIT: Apart from, y'know, Goatse and that.

EDIT2: Tubgir l (without the space) wordfilters to 'amazon'.

Yes, I know morning glory.

What I meant is that Ian Macdonald, writer/author/artist of Bruno the Bandit, (who, at one time, drew saturday strips for sluggy freelance), is the guest artist I was speaking of that I shall be playing board games with this saturday.

Although now I'm curious, how do you mean board games? As in literal board games, ie Snakes and Ladders and Risk?

Board games, as in literal board games, as in Zombies!, Humans!, Settlers of Catan, Assybardia, Red Dragon Inn, Knights of the Round Table, Munchkins, Ingenious, Zen, Koan, etc.
