I had a Star Wars picture book when I was a kid that I always thought was titled "The Rogue Moon" or something to that effect, however when I do a search on Google or Yahoo for the title or variations there-of, nothing comes up.

Basically, the story goes like this: a moon or asteroid is streaking toward the Rebel Base (I believe it might have been Yavin) and Luke has to take it out with his X-Wing Fighter. His fighter gets pretty damaged in the process, but he ends up destroying it at the last second. From what I remember (keeping in mind I was something like four or five years old when I had it) the story was absolutely riveting and the art was pretty cool too.

Anyhow, for sentimental reasons, I was wondering if anyone knew of the book I am talking about?

Just wanted to mention too, that the book was sort of neat in the way that it kept mentioning how old and antiquated the X-wings were and that they wouldn't be up to the mission, etc...

What year did you read it? That would help narrow down when it was created. If it was a marvel comics story, it might be contained on one of the "classic star wars" collections.

Or was it one of those coloring books or a "record and book/book and tape" bundle? You can try starwars.com, theforce.net or amazon/ebay and you might find it...

It's called Star Wars: The Maverick Moon. It was printed in 1979.

Wow, that's book must be of extremely high quality. I'd love to give it a read.

Like I said, I was something like four or five when I had the book. If you didn't have the thing when you were a kid, probably ain't no way you'd enjoy reading it now.
