What is a mimic anyway? Besides someone who copies people, that is.
Chyld is an ignorant slut.

Besides that? In RPG terms, they're usually those nasty monsters that masquerade as treasure chests and attack once you get close enough (ie, when you try to open them). I hate those things.

which raises the question of how does something evolve like that? Is there lots of random adventurers that go looking for treasure to provide them with food? Are there little mimics that imatate pencil cases or something? Do they come in wardrobe varieties too? Do Ikea sell th.....Oh wait, it's magic isn't it.
Bard, red mage, and some kind of knight that I can't read the first letter of. D&D wise the closest I get is a level 6 pimp with a pair of +2 uzi's of swiftness. (and a bloody large purple hat)

:Quickly amends character:
Cheers for that, now all I need is a trenchcoat of holding and some bling of protection....
To be honest with you, I don't own an D&D stuff (isn't it AD&D? or is that just the games or shorthand) I don't think anyone round here does. The first game we played was done using the baldurs gate manual.

Hmm, in Planescape: Torment there was a mage who shape-shifted into a wardrobe in the Brothel for Slaking Intellectual Lusts. Bloody Louis and his panty fetish.

It's the lack of monster information that caused the problems, the poor DM had to dream them up on the spot, giant shotgun wielding badgers anyone? no, I thought not.I think we just assumed everything was a level X fighter. Which is somewhat like how NWN deals with it isn't it?
If I ever do an CRPG I'm including the mother of all evil monsters lurking in the princesses lingerie cupboard. That'll teach the perverts......

Anyone get killed by the exploding books in Ultima 8? Now that was annoying.
