Broadcasting Live From New York Saturday, August 28, 2004

Okay, I'm all moved in and broadcasting live from New York, NY, USA. The move went extremely well. I estimated that we would use about 75% of our 17-foot long rented truck and it would take approximately 12 hours to get everything moved. We used about 105% of our Uhaul and it took 11 hours so the planning was of mixed results.
We even made good time on the trip except for getting stopped at the Triboro bridge by some soldiers with M16s. They inspected the truck and found that it did not carry a dirty bomb as they had suspected. I traveled with K1NGWARREN who, in his infinite lack of wisdom, decided it would be a good idea to start snapping some pictures of the soldiers. You know who don't like getting their pictures taken? Some soldiers, that's who!
So after a brief lecture on post 9/11 security we were allowed to pass because they knew that we didn't "have any malice in our heart." Well, fancy that. They can tell just by looking! I guess that's why they're a crack anti-terror squad and we're just some regular, untrained civilians.
I am writing this from my beautiful new apartment in scenic Manhattan, New York. The neighborhood is pretty cool and much more quiet than the tiny neighborhood I lived in in This Glorious City. There are far less dirt bikes, motorcycles, screaming children, screaming adults, ice cream trucks, barking dogs, and marching bands than I was used to in my little town of 40,000 residents. Now in a city of 9,000,000+ inhabitants I can finally have a decent night's sleep and enjoy my afternoons without being surrounded by the bedlam I have become used to.
Check here for pics of the move and the new place coming soon!

God damn those small towns and their ruckus.
Actually, I find the same differences between Brantford and Hamilton. It always seems to be quieter at night in the much larger Hamilton than in sleepy little Brantford. There are less half-retarded teenagers walking around yelling at four in the morning in Hamilton. Less "souped-up" Hondas with mini kegs for mufflers too.

Good to be here!
If either of you guys are interested in discussing the semantic of game design and theory, you should jump over to the forums on braindonut.com. I'm attempting to setup a bit of a community, who knows if I'll be successful. If not, I'll just be talking to myself a lot.
Are you guys planning on going to Gnomedex? If so, I'll see you there. I haven't signed up yet, unfortunately, since I had some crazy bills. But, I'm signing up soon and, one way or another, I'm going to make my way out there.
Now, for everyone's enjoyment, a ninja:

I love that little guy. (The ninja, I mean)
Anyway, no Gnomedex for me. I have to pay for school and...well, actually that pretty much explains it right there.

Ugh, I hear ya.
That's exactly why I can't register yet. All those bills that I spoke of: tuition.

Jeff sent me that link at work and told me to check out how big the pic was of that woman. I agreed that it was unnecessarily large but it wasn't until after I clicked on the link to the GIANT picture that I saw how unnecessary it really was! Yowsa!
I don't know when I'll be writing any rants any time soon. Expect Star Wars DVD coverage coming soon, though.

I understand that you're busy now. Girlfriend, Job, two websites, and spare time to yourself.
All I'm saying is just sacrifice that sparetime for the sake of us forum readers. Kidding, looking foreward to the SW DVD rants.
PS- It's coming out his month. I have the black book for video releases.

Yeah, I'm "looking forward" to it.
Lots of good games coming out this month too. I'm going to have to budget well to afford it.
