I like it, but I wouldn't want it hanging on the wall across from my bed.

I like it. It's like he's standing in an ocean of blood, and the waves are crashing down upon him.

Yeah, DreamerM, when I was choosing my colors before I started I was like, huh... this is going to turn out all red, isn't it... Things like that always make me go colorblind by the end.

joshofalltrades, are you sure? Because somebody could pay me a gazillion dollars for it for their bedroom and I wouldn't complain biggrin.gif But, yeah, I can see how maybe it might not be the best bedtime sight, nor the most pleasant to wake up to.

Man Of Doom, I'm glad you got that image; something like that is what I was going for, and it's nice when my art actually works to some extent.

Glad you guys like it! Thanks for the comments. I know I'm a lurker, but I have to post this stuff here since nobody else on the freaking internet appreciates the glory that is Yahtzee's world.

Yes, I'm sure. It looks like it belongs in the cult house in Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

I like it too. The cravat and mask seem a touch too white, though, considering the strong red light. They stick out too much against the dark coat, maybe if you added more shadows around the edges touching the coat it would soften that jarring effect? And you've got strong white highlights from the top-left on the TM's head, but not on the weird blade thing, so maybe add in a few almost-white highlights to try and get the whole shiny metal feel. But those are just a few minor niggles, good job on the pose and all the rest. As I said, I like it.

I mostly agree with the above. While I agree that the blade could use some highlights, I don't really see it as being shiny. Rusty and dull seems more Chzo's style... However I think that is mostly a point of taste.

I'd also say add a little black to the top so you have more of a border, it looks a little off with the blade just sudddenly stopping at the end. Also, I think the Tall Man's hands have some bandages on them.

...but that is mostly nitpicking. This is a good piece! Great body shape, you made him look tall without looking stringy. The flow of the piece is good, too. The red and black is well done. You can almost hear his trademark squishing-breaking-someone's-body sound. (I don't know how to onomatopoeia that.)

There has to be a home out there that just *needs* this painted on the wall. biggrin.gif Or maybe a desktop that could use this as a wallpaper.

Edit: Fixed spelling/grammar.

I believe the correct onomatopoeia would be "splorch".

The lighting is off, you're right... but I found when I highlighted the blade more, it pulled my eyes away from the white stuff and created more of a dual focus than I liked. Inability to reconcile composition with realistic lighting (or logicality in general) is a flaw of many mediocre artists, I understand XD

Millitant Pacifist, I know exactly what you mean about the white being jarring. And that's after I tried for a million years to fix it! At least the white is actually supposed to draw your eyes, so it's not as bad as it could be.

Mandy Writes, I see what you mean about a bigger border up top. I may try that. Also, his hands do have bandages; I guess they're just hard to see. Glad you like the body shape; that was difficult. I think the angle of his right arm isn't conveyed very well (the foreshortening of the forearm disappeared at some point), but overall I'm still pretty pleased with how his shape came out. I was trying to figure out just how the hell someone all disturbingly stretched out like that would look... I ended up just drawing a realistic figure and then lengthening the torso, arms, and abdomen.

I'm so glad you guys like it ^__^ I'm thinking of drawing a whole scene next... any suggestions which? Something from TN, probably.

That seems pretty close. Thank you, Josh, I might need that if I ever descend into writing Tall Man POV fanfic. tongue.gif

On second look, I do see some around his palms, I guess I expected more or more white to them. But you'd think they'd be pretty dirty... As for the lengthening, I think that is pretty much how it is done. I've heard you have to have a good grasp on how to draw something correctly before you can distort it properly...

I know it's note from TN, but after seeing you draw this, I think it would also be cool if you could draw The Caretaker as he was falling away from Chzo in 6DAS.

That's not a bad idea... that was such a cool scene. (And that probably would have been my exact response to any suggestion, given that I love these games so damn much) I'm thinking of cosplaying that guy... drawing him seems like a good warmup biggrin.gif

SHHHHHH! Don't say the "c-word" around here! You might get tared and feathered. wink.gif

It would be a nice, simple costume, though. You might get lots of head turns and "Who are you, again"s. Even so, I am looking forward to Halloween for certain wielder-reasons.

Anyways. Draw more!

Why does that remind me of A Nightmare Before Christmas?

It's the arms I think.
