Condemned 2

Good review. Also agree that Indigo Prophecy syndrome sucks, as well as revealing the mystery. Things are much creepier if there isn't a clear reason for it.

Was thinking of getting this, probably won't now. Might pick up the original though.

I'm glad other people feel the same way about good ol' Indigo Prophecy, although I thought IP's supernatural explanation was disappointing but tolerable until the final act where I wondered if they'd shot the writer. I know that once you tinge something with supernatural horror it becomes difficult to write a satisfying explanation and conclusion to the story, but it was just awful.

Anyhow, I liked the demo of Condemned 2 but I never played Condemned 1. Originally I thought that if I played C2 I'd be missing out on a lot of backstory but maybe it's not the impediment I thought it was. (Mystic cults? I never played the original so why not! Someone tell me if that black goop hanging around the city spitting monsters made of tar at you is from the first game or a new addition though) Yahtzee's review makes it sound like a rental and I can spare $5 bucks to try the first half of the game at least.

Speaking of the review, good times. And it reminded me that I've always wanted to watch Session 9. I'm learning all sorts of important stuff from ZP here.

I don't care what anyone says, I liked Fahrenheit, so what If the ending was silly, It may not have been Deus Ex but It wasn't trying to be.

The only let down was that two of the three endings were practically the same.

I spend most of my time incredibly bored and mostly enjoy sitting at my desk typing away long rambling sentences, much like this one, whenever I feel I've spent too much time on a particular game. As such, I intend on cracking my way into the gaming media, somehow.

Anyone here planning on filling Yahtzee's inbox with requests for Zero Punctuation shirts?

Shnooper-loopy?

Oh Made-Up Words. You make this world a better place. Especially when uttered by a guy whose constantly terse, irritable voice could not be LESS of a match for their whimsical silliness. Dig the contradiction, yo!

This was a good review: not as laugh-out-loud hilarious others but definitely one of the best REVIEWS he's ever done. He reviewed three games in one here.

My rule about ZP swag is the same as my rule about any other swag: I'll wear it proudly if I can get it for free. But any random stranger wearing it is going to get a big friendly "Cool shirt!" from me.

This was actually "awesome".

"Being British, middle class and whiter than a man with a Bukkake fetish, I am no stranger to cultural guilt."
"Bat-shit Bonkers."
"*ASSUAGED! (IT'S A REAL WORD)*"
"Series of entertaining bum fights than a class war."
"Whatever-the-hell-city-this-is-vile."
"Set loose in succession of ruined buildings armed only with a bollard and a bottle of wild Irish Rose."
"The forensic investigation element was a little more than an adventure in the instructions following, scarcely more thoughtful than clicking an OK button."
"Forensic investigation now takes the form of challenging little quizzes while the player does know more reasonable amount about blood splatter pattern analysis, you're not punished too much for cocking them up."
"WRONG AND SHUT UP."
"The first warning light flicked few hours in where the creepy doll robot suicide bombers showed up."
"My warning light started up at black pool pleasure beach when characters started [shdgcf?] the phrase 'ANCIENT MYSTICAL CULT', because I realized that I've been through this before."
"The main and most obvious symptom of the Indigo prophesy syndrome is a plot in the second half which is medically know as the 'snooker loopy'."
"Oh, for example YOURS RIGHT DOWN THE PSYCHOTIC SERIAL KILLER WHO LIVES UNDER YOUR BED AND STANDING RIGHT BEHIND YOU, BUT DON'T LOOK CUZ THAT WOULD REALLY PISS HIM OFF!"
"I wish I was fucking kidding."
"The forensic bits became less frequent and more incipient, the melee combat gave away to shooting and using your fucking retarded Dragon ball Z haduken thing and the story shits itself inside out."

Uh...I would assume that he means Dexter the serial killer/CSI wanna-be. Although the kid genius isn't really out of the question, now that I think about it.

ZP shirts. YES.

And the review was good too, of course. Probably would have seemed better to me if I had played any of the games discussed, but whatever...

That was the funniest ZP since CoD 4.

That show ROCKS, I'm probably about 5 series behind you though. The UK isnt quite as bad as Australia when it comes to getting stuff late but it's close.

You really don't need to play the first, the cult was hardly mentioned but you really understand why Ethan is this way and who SKX really is. The black goop monsters are kinda in the first one, but I don't remember the black goop.

This is game is great, multiplayer definently requires a certain taste (That I really like personally) but the single player, regardless of the out there story, is incredible. Some great scares, the combat is alot better now and its way better then the first, but i'd still play it.

Didn't the Chzo Mythos fall victim to Indigo Prophecy Syndrome?

Okay, be honest.
Who here physically looked behind themselves with the "behind you right now" comment?
I didn't think people like that existed, but a group session of watching this weeks ZP proved me wrong.
