How did you find the site?:
Found it via search or something. Great fun! Needs a spell/grammar check though and some proofreading here and there! Love the movies, appreciate the nitpicks. I'm a fan, not a "fanboy"! ;)

  1. "Fake" Childhood memory becomes real: BluRay Deleted scene

    Posted 31 Jul 2011

This isn't meant as an advertisment for the new Blu-Rays coming in September. I don't have a BD player, and I won't be grabbing one just to get these sets. Mark my words... this will NOT be the last time these movies are released on the format.

What I'm most interested in is not the extras... I've seen them all before except the new material (and as I'm not a cosplayer I don't care about the 501st legion, sorry guys, I know you do good work for charity). What matters to me is the deleted scenes that haven't previously been released.

So here's a childhood memory many claimed to have had (based on the radio drama, iirc). Apparently the scene was actually filmed (though it looks like you could have faked it pretty easily with looping footage):

Btw: This scene also looks like it could easily have been "faked" in modern times:

Finally there's this, which is more what I'm interesting in seen. Again, mark my words, all of the deleted scenes will be out, in full quality within a week of the official release. Hence, I don't need to feel bad about not buying the special editions again. ;)

  2. The Jedi Oath (and other revelations from ESB)

    Posted 8 Jun 2010

    SPOILERS GALORE!!!

Now that Leigh Brackett's long lost (but oft mentioned) Rough Draft of Empire Strikes Back (then known only as "Star Wars Sequel") has been published online, I thought we should talk about some of the "revelations" from it.

I read through it and came across... an honest to goodness JEDI OATH.

Unsurprisingly, it's nothing like the "Jedi Code" we get from either the Expanded Universe or what it seems to be in the Prequel trilogy.

Instead we get (and yes, that's the Force ghost of Luke's father who is doing the talking there, and "Minch" is Yoda):

    Quote

    SKYWALKER
Will you take, from me, the oath of a Jedi knight?
Slowly, proudly, Luke draws his light saber and activates it, bringing it to the salute. Skywalker does the same. Ben and Minch also raise their sabers, standing by as witnesses.

    I, Luke Skywalker...
do swear on my honor, and on the faith of the brotherhood of knights, to use the Force only for good, turning always from the Dark Side; to dedicate my life to the cause of freedom, and justice. If I should fail of this vow, my life shall be forfeit, here and hereafter.
The four sabers touch, a kind of ceremonial amen.

Other revelations: Luke's sister is named Nellith. The ice planet isn't named Hoth. Instead Hoth refers to the planet now known as "Besspin Kaalieda" (or Kaalida). To further confuse long-time ESB viewers, Bespin ("Besspin Kaalieda") is a paradise-like planet of "brilliant moons illuminating beautiful gardens" where the Rebels go after escaping the Empire on "Hoth" (home of cloud city).

Ovan Marekal is built up as a major character. Who, you ask? Only the "most powerful man in the galaxy" next to Vader and the Emperor, leader of the Transport Guild. The Rebels are determined to try to convince him to join their side, before he sides with the Empire.

Lando is a clone (I'd heard this one before, but it's nice to finally see proof).

PS: Oh you haven't read it yet? Well head on over here (one of many places) and read it! http://starwarz.com/... leigh-brackett/

  4. Police break up Darth Vader's 'Porn' Film

Actor David Prowse, who played Darth Vader in "Star Wars," was interrupted by police officers during the filming of his new action thriller. According to Metro, the officers responded to a report that a porn film was being shot, but ended up walking into a scene that included dramatic dialogue and a bunch of fully-clothed actors.

Apparently neighbors jumped to the wrong conclusion after seeing a camera and lighting equipment being taken into the bungalow home that was being used as a set.

One film crew member said: "It was hilarious to see a bunch of policemen enter the bungalow expecting to see a porn film carrying on. When the officers saw two dressed actors talking, they looked quite disappointed. The curtain twitchers certainly have a vivid imagination."

The movie is called "The Kindness of Strangers" and will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next year.
