    REASON #2: The Trade Federation

Good point. What the heck was the 'Trade Federation' anyway? 'Trade Federation' doesn't sound as scary as 'Galactic Empire'.

I haven't seen the new special editions, but I do know one change that SHOULD be made.

Yoda's line in Dagobah: "A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defence, NEVER for attack.

Which would be fine, except when TPM came out, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were force-pushing battle droids left, right, and centre. But hey, maybe they forgot that rule, they're just droids anyway, who cares, right?

I let it go until AOTC, when Yoda has his showdown with Dooku. During their little 'push stuff back and forth battle' (which by the way, Vader did a way better job in TESB) Yoda quite clearly catches a bolt of force lightning in his hand, AND SHOOTS IT BACK AT DOOKU! How exactly is this different from shooting his own force lightning?

As usual, ROTS was the final nail in the coffin. Before the duel with Palpatine, Yoda uses the force to kill two Royal Guards at the same time. Sure, it looked cool, but he was still murdering living things with the force.

They should just take the line out.

OK, this is serious. Are just supposed to take her word that she will not abuse her powers? What about a polygraph? Can we write a code that she must swear by?

And what about all the other Jedi among us? In the Olympics? Can you imagine how a Jedi knight would destroy the competition? Are we going to have to test for midichlorians as well as steroids?

Jedi as diplomats? Mind tricks used in negotiations with other countries? What about internal politics? Was George W. Bush a Jedi? I can't think of any other way he could have managed to get into office!

This is a problem people! Get on your Toydarian skull mindtrick-proof helmets! They are here!!!!!

    REASON #1: The Title

As far as I can determine, 'The Phantom Menace' refers to Sidious, and how he is pretending to be the nice Palpatine. This would be a lot more effective if we didn't already know that Palpatine and Sidious are one and the same. They could have done a better job of adding a bit of mystery though. For example: don't give Sidious the exact same costume the Emperor wore.

That is interesting about the original title. Not only would it have been better, but it would've given hope to SW fans by giving them a recognizable phrase. 'The Phantom Menace' just screams "THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH STAR WARS!!!!! !!"
