I was actually planning on attempting to improve the joke in every example, then telling you why you're wrong.

An analogy to help the people who like CAD understand our side somewhat.

You grew up in a modern society. Certain things in this society are considered unequivocally bad, such as, say, raping children. However, you just recently stumbled upon a quiet little population that supports the rape of children. The children there support it, too, and are somehow totally unharmed by it. Almost everyone you speak to is shocked that you live in a society which thinks child rape is something that could possibly be bad. Every argument you give against it is refuted soundly, and the general consensus is that you should leave if you don't like it.
...but they're raping children, what the fuck!

That' s how we feel. You enjoy this comic for some reason, but that reason baffles and mystifies us.



Could you give some specific examples of these chucklers?

His writing, primarily, along with his games, through which his writing shines. His humor was stifled when he was scrambling for a punchline for every comic instead of being able to work at his own pace.


General statements about a group of people typically do not refer to the very obvious exceptions. No one's complaining about the people who simply read CAD in private without regurgitating praise for it all over everyone.


Edit: Rereading my original post, my wording was a bit vague. The distinction lied, for me, in using "CAD fans" versus "people who read CAD," but not everyone thinks exactly like me.

CAD fans. To them I said, "You shit-promoting assholes! This is why there's nothing good on TV!" To me they said, "Suck on a big one, cocksmear! Who are you to tell us what we can or can't like?" Arguments regarding CAD's quality or lack thereof will usually always devolve into either "Continuing to read this drivel will only promote more of the same" versus "I enjoy it, and that's what matters" or "Stop giving this rampant asshole popularity for shitting this all over us!" versus "Fuck you, buddy! Why don't you fuck off back to your elitist friends so you can talk about how things you don't like suck in harmony?" depending on the debating sides' relative levels of pansiness.

I've stopped caring. If they like it, what the hell, let them throw roses at Buckley. The fans appear to truly believe the praise they give him is deserved, and there's no use in trying to tell them otherwise. It's kind of a shame that he can actually draw well but avoids doing so because his money mine is easier to maintain with copy/pasted graphics, but he doesn't strike me as the type to put significant effort into his work beyond what's needed for popularity anyway.

And come off it, even Yahtzee himself admits YTotW sucked. I was greatly relieved when he stopped making webcomics, because they almost always dragged the quality of his better work down.
