Topics I've Started

  1. Reader's Random Comics

    Posted 12 Jun 2005

OK, why am i doing this? The main reason is boredom. I was kinda shy to throw my hat into the ring comic-wise, but boredom deters inhibitions. Lucky you, eh? rolleyes.gif
Anyway, I don't have any comics made yet. I have no idea what kind of story to tell or any idea as to what i want to do at all! But to tide you over here are some character sketches i did today.

This one here didn't turn out quite like i wanted it. I was trying to design someone who would fit the personality of a fun, precocious young lady like Yukino's youngest sister from "Kare Kano". I think i failed, but here it is anyway. tongue.gif

I'll try to think of some story/setting/concept/anything so i can get this thing rolling. I'll take into consideration any advice any of you throw at me. In the meantime here's a horse playing banjo!
  2. Happiest Music in the World

    Posted 8 Apr 2005

Happy songs. Joyful. Wonderful. Not depressing. GO!

Boo radleys - Wake up Boo
    FZ - echinda's arf
    Softies - it's love
    Mouse on Mars - Yippie
Simon and Garfunkel - Feelin' Groovy ('live at Monterey Pop Festival' ver.)
    Allman Bros. Band - Jessica
    Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop
Cornelius - Chapter 8 - Seashore and Horizon
Parliament - Give up the Funk (Tear the Roof of the Sucker)
  3. Music you bought...

    Posted 4 Jan 2005

I think this is a very useful topic.

For instance, i bought a couple Can albums a while back but hadn't gotten around to listening to them. While i only listened to 'Moster Movie', i felt the need to gush about it here (but not in detail or anything, so do not fret).
Anyway, it's quite a righteous album. If you've heard Neu! and liked it you will love Can... which really goes without saying since they were contemporaries (...of eachother). While the last track is a bit taxing at 20 mins+, the rest of it brought me much joy.

Then there's Teenage Jesus and the Jerks. Find something by them now! No wave pioneers, 'influential' (cliche'd adjective, but apt!), just plain fun to listen to. 'Confusion is Sex' is one of my favorite albums of the SY canon, and this is much like that, but y'know... precedes it by several years. Any abrasive female rock singer tends to sound like Lydia Lunch, whether they realize it or not.
  4. New Years Resolutions?

    Posted 26 Dec 2004

Mine is to be less self-depreciating.
But other than that i'm perfect, thanks for asking.
  5. Drummers of the World
