  1. In Topic: Contradictions, Plot holes between the Trilogies

    Posted 27 Aug 2007

Kurgan's quite convinced of his opinions so I see no reason to continue our "point, counterpoint". It only works if both parties are detached enough to admit they might not be 100% right in all things. His responses are getting too repetitive and predictable, it's like arguing with a broken record.

In any event, I've said my piece; I and a few others pointed out most of Kurgan's "plot holes" are just personal beefs of his. Sure, there are about 6 or so indefensible holes, but no film is perfect, and I'm content to let them be as they fail to affect my enjoyment of the 6 films.

Have fun doing whatever it is you are trying to do here. I now remember why I don't bother with Star Wars themed forums.

Read The Secret History of Star Wars, my friend: it'll tell you everything you need to know about Lucas' "vision". wink.gif

Besides, "From Star Wars to Jedi" was a biased documentary cooked up by Lucasfilm in 1987. sick.gif

Would that be the one on the shelf next to "The Truth About Area 51" and "The Holocaust Never Happened?" rolleyes.gif

I'm sorry you're all so bitter. Perhaps the master forum should be renamed to "Star Wars Anger and Hate?"
  3. In Topic: First time viewer watches them 1-6, writes review

He already knew too much about the trilogies, he could hardly be considered a virgin.

I plan to do this experiment myself one day. My first born will have the privilege ( tongue.gif ) of seeing all six Star Wars films back to back to back.

One problem, however, is the PT is not intended to be viewed before the OT, simply due to the order of release. ANH would be extremely redundant to a view that had seen 1-3 right before it, whereas in the real world timeline it was our first exposure to Star Wars.

If you liked the Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale series, get KOTOR. You'll love it.

That' s... umm... I really don't know whether I should describe it as amazing, crazy or just as an indicator to too much spare time...

... how long has it been since you last saw the sun?

Kurgan' s correct, that is hardly exceptional. I'm no fan of the EU but my personal list is over twice the length of his.

I was raised on Star Wars, I remember watching the OT at age 3. When the PT was announced, I was very enthused, and unlike a lot of other longtime fans, I happen to think the PT is a fitting homage to the OT.

I started to sour on the EU around age 16 though, when I realized most of the authors don't have a clue what is canonical in Star Wars and what isn't. Then you have some of the main characters acting completely out of character, as well as the yay-apocalypse-fest the New Jedi Order line is....

I needn't continue. I'm not a fan of the EU, only the canon.
