Call me a pessimist (I like to think I’m a realist) but I certainly hope Yahtzee has been making plans for other projects during his off time. Before he was the internet sensation he is now, and when he was just a comparatively unknown indie-game developer sensation, I was starting to get worried about his lack of recognition.

The minute I realized that this Zero Punctuation thing really took off, I was relieved to see him get praise for many of the things that we (the forumites) knew he was capable of. I did however, ask myself “How long is this Zero Punctuation thing gonna last?” As great as ZP is, the rabid dog pit that is the internet does eventually grow bored of its play things, before running off to find the next flavour of the month… and sap it dry.

I mean, for as long as it lasts, that’s great. But I think now’s the opportune time for him to branch off into other avenues.

In short, Yahtzee needs to write a huge fucking book.

I see a lot of people here have mentioned SS2. I completed that game on, what, medium difficulty marine? While it was a tense ride, I would hardly call it scary.

David-kyo: I’ve heard people mention Shadow of the Comet quite a lot when discussing horror gaming classics. Is it as good as they say? How does it compare to say, Darkseed?

A third grader? Shite?! Have you ever made a game in AGS? Try making a game with an engine like that, any engine at all, actually, and say that again.

Yahtzee's graphics are simple, but I've gotten more scares from the Chzo games than any 3D game ever.

And no matter how many dimensions this new-fangled 5 Days will have, it will never replace the original. Remakes never do. Except for The Fly with Jeff Goldblum.

Not meaning to come off as an asswipe, but making even a halfway decent game using AGS is fairly simple, it just comes down to a willingness to devote time. 1213 on the other hand, is another story.

And while Yahtzee has created some excellent games, it does become clear he’s not an artist. But in saying that; he’s done pretty damn well for someone whose main field is writing/coding.

    They're using the Source engine?
Putting fifty bucks down now, that they’ll be using a “fast zombie” in the bathtub nightmare…

Why don't you post an example of what you've already started? We can't really give you any feedback/advice based on vague questions and answers.

I'm coming from the artistic perspective here, though I'm sure there's more than enough experienced coders on these boards. Yahtzee being one, but I've yet to see him actually help someone.
