If General Grievous’ ship is ‘Invisible Hand,’ what is Lucas saying about Adam Smith and capitalism?

This one has already been raised (before the film came out). It's most likely an in joke for those who are able to understand it, and is probably a comment on the politics in the film.

No, the problem isn't that Obi-wan says speciality; it's that he says "defeating Sith Lords is our speciality" or something of that nature.  It most certainly is not.  Before Phantom Menace, there hadn't been any Sith Lords for a thousand years.  And until the end of Revenge of the Sith(including events that take place chronologically later), no Jedi--fighting like a Jedi--had ever defeated a Sith in a lightsaber duel.  Even Obi-wan had to freak out to defeat Darth Maul.
I don't think defeating two Sith, defying the Jedi way in the process both times, justifies the statement "defeating Sith Lords is our speciality."

I don't doubt that it was a typically poor piece of dialogue. It's only one of many and as you say, it's contradicted by the previous two films.

The quibble that was raised was about the pronunciation, not the line itself. It hinges around the fact that Americans do not say "speciality", they say "specialty", as I have discovered today. The poster (Vwing?) was obviously as unaware of this subtelty as I was.

Chef the new 10 are good, but I'm disappointed that among all the talk of the horrible banter between Anakin and Dooku or Obi-Wan and Dooku, you didn't mention Obi-Wan's pronunciation of the word specialty.  It's the line, "Chancellor Palpatine, Sith Lords are our specialty."  Not a great line to begin with, but McGregor's pronunciation irks me every time I hear it.  He says spe-shee-al-i-ty, and it is extremely annoying and takes me right out of the movie.

The word is "speciality" and McGregor pronounces it correctly. Is "specialty" an American word? I've never heard it before. It sounds daft, but I guess that's the same as your complaint.
  4. In Topic: The Opera scene is outstanding

The opera scene itself is wonderful.  First, we see people in Coruscent going about their business, unconcerned with the lives of the main characters in the movie, and once again get a sense that space is a big place.  Second, the conversation between Palpatine and Anakin is interesting, makes sense, provides a good deal of insight in the motives of Palpatine and a little bit into the motives of Anakin.  Excellent acting job by McDiarmed and decent acting by Christiansen as well.

Agreed. This scene should actually have been in AOTC to set up Palpatine's influence on Anakin much earlier and to show the relationship between them. It gives some real depth to what is going on, something that doesn't happen elsewhere in the prequels. The way McDiarmid manages to convey that he was the Sith apprentice who killed the master was great.

Unfortunately, the movie next goes to the Wookie's impersonation of Braveheart .  The next few scenes that follow are increasingly ridiculous, with overuse of CGI and implausible acting, and when Palpatine started swinging the lightsaber like a baseball bat I had enough.

The Wookiee scenes are probably the most inconsequential in the whole PT, and that's saying something. There's no reason at all for them and putting Chewbacca in doubles the insult.

True, however, I don't think you can just hold onto something to avoid from being sucked out of a pressurized room.  And pressurization would be the major concern, apparently.

I don't want to labour this point, but if you want wind, you need air, and there's not much in a room. If the room empties of air in a matter of seconds (and it would, if the doors are air-tight) there will be no gale force wind dragging people outwards. It goes back to the myth that depressurising a vessel will suck people outside. Goldfinger is at fault here, in my opinion.

Anyway, I think I can guess one of the later "reasons":

PAD-UH-MAY - Hayden Christensen AKA Anakin AKA Darth Vader pronounced the name this way (wrongly), as is so well nailed already.

PAD-MEE - as pronounced correctly by James Earl Jones AKA Darth Vader.

Now how to reconcile this rather obvious continuity error? Over to George Lucas... I would guess this will come in at 86 in the reasons...?
