I just prefer to think (because i have to make up my own stories to make Star Wars make sense now ) that Chewbacca is 20 years old in ROTS and 40 years old in ANH, say Wookies live about 10-20 years older than humans on average, and there you go (not that 40 year old men couldent run around and battle and so on, but yannow), theres no problem with Chewie being in ROTS.

What i found odd is that with every single Wookie on Kashyyyk wearing armor and various garb Chewbacca still has his single bandolier job going on. Useful, he dosen't change once in 20 years!
