So I bought "Tyrannosaurus Hives", and it's good. Not as good as "Veni Vidi Vicious" was, but it's still an excellent rock album. I reccommend it. But I pose this question:
Are the Hives really a band that should be taken seriously? I mean, the matching outfits, the pomp and flair, the charisma, the egotism...am I the only one that finds them hilarious? I mean, I can't watch an interview with Pelle Almqvist without laughing out loud. So do you take their attitude and style seriously, or do you chalk it up to just being a bunch of wacky guys who like to rock?

It depends. How do you define taking a band seriously?
Yes, they goof around - so do the Darkness.
Yes, they're all identically clad - so are Slipknot.
Both aforementioned bands are serious about what they do (well, sort of)
Their songs are genuine, are they not? They're not just taking the piss?

the identical suits/were a gang look is hardly new though its been done by everyone from the Sonics to Nation of Ulysess to Make Up to Rocket from the Crypt.

not heard the new stuff, but i was rather fond of their old stuff.

1) No one claimed that the matching suits thing was new.
2) It doesn't make a difference whether it is or not. They've never claimed that it was their idea, and openly wear their influences on their sleeves.

I love the Sonics, and have heard of the other two. Neither really does much for me.
