Has anyone seen Paul/Jacques alive recently?

Just wondering...

I have seen Paul alive more recently than Jacques though I've emailed Jacques more recently than I've seen Paul. I can confirm that they are both alive.

Paul spends all of his time working on a BIG new project. I can't tell you anything about it other than that it's going to be BIG.

Jacques spends all of his time working on a BIG new project as well. I can't tell you anything about that because I don't know anything about it. No one does. Jacques lives a secluded life of secrecy in his bedroom with his comic book stand.

Are there actually comics in the stand, or is it merely an empty stand on which he sleeps? huh.gif

How big does a project have to be to take 2 years?

Jaques left L&E for good, Stongbah. As far as I know, his projects are all non-web-related. It's a shame, and I miss the guy, but...you know....
I'm certain that Paul has done something within the past few months, though.

I hadn't heard that, truly this is a dark day for web humor... or rather the day Jacques left was a dark day. Jacques was always among my five favorite Redcloud brothers, though his unfortunate demise does leave an opening. You guys should start taking fake applications for a new Jacques. Damn did I jsut say that? I'm a horrible person...

...oh. That explains why Jacques hasn't written any articles lately...

Well, that royally sucks.

So dose that mean that the only really active Brothers Redcloud are Cheffers and Laura?

Since Jacques hasn't written an article since November, 2002--that's more than a year and a half!--I'm always surprised when it just dawns on people that he's maybe retired from Lanceandeskimo. Applications for a robot Jacques would surely be appreciated, but technically Jen and I took over his Thursday slot in December 2002. Then, like so many of our compatriots, we kind of stopped posting new articles. I don't think any one of us is technically retired, however; Paul and Jen and I may be diminishing, and going into the West, but we may pull out our Elven rings once or twice more to dazzle you, darlings.

Or I might, I guess.

No one could replace Jaques. All anyone would do is go "They're not as good as Jaques" and go read his archive (this may be a somewhat cynical assumption, but I'm basing it on some of the reactions that occurred over something as simple as setting up a new forum, for what it's worth). It would be a tremendous pressure on the writer.

I was recently wondering what happened to you, Anonymous Blonde! Good to see you're still kicking about.

AB- Don't go taking away our naieve optimism, it's all we have left! He could just be taking a short vacation, I say.

Heccubus- I wasn't suggesting the mundane idea that we just get some semi-funny guy to take Jacques place, I mean completely replace him. With all the combined intellect on this website we should be able to

A: Get some of Jacques DNA
B: Get some test tubes and miscroscopes, as well as lab coats and smoking pipes for all of us, and glasses too.
C: Make a really half-assed clone of Jacques, kind of like Laura's little friend, Rags.
D: Replace all pictorial references to Jacques with pictures of the demi-Jacques and then, if necessary, liquidate the real Jacques.

SimeSublime- I've written a few articles but most of it is just inspired by other articles I've read or by my daily trials and tribulations. Jacques just seemed like the type who really should have been on SNL, I guess he wasn't meant for our world.

Or we could just, combine our skills and write under the name of Jaques as a creative team of Jaques fans who really have far too much time on our hands.

Fair enough, but can we wear glasses and lab coats and smoke pipes while we do it?
