Thanks for the review Chelelf, I do agree with you that Star Wars games are usually totally great like KOTOR or like this game which is mediocre at best, and I wish they wouldn't slap unfinished games out that have potential, I for one am sick of playing games that just feel unfinished, oh well I guess if people keep buying them they will keep making them.

I read this review. You sound like a surgeon blaming the scalpel for his mistakes. You know the motions of the sabre aren't random. The sabre moves in the dirction you move the analog stick and different combinations perform different moves. I tried it on the xbox, the controls make a lot more sence with the mouse to control the sabre but still you can actually get pretty skilled, I'd think you'd be able to figure out the controls as my nephew's gotten pretty good at the game and he's just a kid. Frankly I think you just suck at the game, or maybe you'd be better off with a copy for the pc. You could always try going in and saying "I got this for my birthday but I wanted it for the PC" and seeing if that will fly. My favorite gaming mode online is lightsabre dueling and I win about 8 in ten times. No cointoss or anything. The combat actually makes sence if you apply the scientific method to it. For Godsakes if you're not going to read the manual at least spend a few minutes testing things out. Yeah so it's no knights of the old republic it's not even an rpg for crying out loud.

Thank you for the post but I respectfully disagree. As for me sucking at the game, perhaps I do but I did beat the game.

I stand by my opinion after playing the game all the way through. It seems to lack anything original or interesting. It's shoddily put together and buggy. I've never played the PC version but after playing the lackluster Xbox port I'm pretty sure I'm not going to bother giving it a try.

I have a feeling that KOTOR is going to be the best RPG Star Wars game ever. Maybe the sequel, The Sith Lords, can try to topple it (it's being developed by Obsidian, after all), but I doubt it.

And Jedi Outcast? Ugh! Didn't you find the little kissing scene between Kyle and Jan just a little bit awkward? *shudders*

I didn't think much about the plot of Jedi Outcast at all, but the game itself was good.

that to me is an insult! play more games of the genre?!?!?! its the only Fricken genre i play (that and rpgs, but not as much) I have beaten almost every fps there is!! How many Fpss can you grab a guy from a mile a way and smash his head on the roof and then batter his friends with his crumpled body!? or steal a guys gun from his own hands and use it to shoot the sucker, or vaporise someone with a sniper rifle... *takes a deep breath to calm down*
jedi outcast aside, i have played many fpss and beaten every one of them...

As far as games where you pick up guys and throw them around using only the powers of your mind... I prefer Psi-Ops.

I dunno. Jedi Academy had potential but there were just far too many problems with it. Had they fleshed it out a little more and actually cleaned upt he graphics/gameplay a bit it could have been decent. However, Lucasarts is much more interested in mass producing products, branding it with the Star Wars logo and sending it to stores ASAP. 'tis a shame.

Having just played Outcast, I just want to add that the game's graphics were VERY creepy, and the game got unenjoyable towards the end. Anything on Dagobah sucked. Also suffered from "once you get the lightsaber, all other guns are 95% obsolete." Poor level design, as well...I don't like being stuck for a half hour 'cause I didn't think to do some stupid random thing like wait at a ledge and look off it for 30 seconds.

I actually found a use for the guns. I went into a multiplayer game, having only played it in single player before, and found the only way for me to survive was to use the grenade launcher thingy(I think it was a secondry fire of some energy rifle). They couldn't reflect that one!

I agree except I may push it to 100% obsolete.

EXACTLY! That was one of the more frustrating points of both games. You'd dispatch all the enemies then find yourself wandering around a level for 20 mintues trying to find where to go next. Very sloppy level design in both cases.

I played Jedi Academy when I first got Xbox Live (having no other games to test out). I found it to be more enjoyable than the single player but still pretty bland as the gameplay is just kinda crappy.

I haven't actually played Acadmy, I was refering to Outcast. To be honest, I decided not to get Acadamy solely on your review. But I found that a lot of my single player techniques didn't translate well to multiplayer. Mostly as I relied heavily on Force Speed to slow everyone down, which didn't work well in multiplayer.
