Troy Not ALL bad

Went to see "Troy" today, (well it is abnormally warm in Britain). Not a bad film, at least the action was over and done with in a blur so there weren't too many blood-spattered action heroes. There was a lot of close ups of blood capsules being bitten on and gore oozing slowly down chins.
The romantic bits were quite good, almost saw Brad Pitt in the nuddy and the women were suitably heroic as well. Sean Bean was the brave Yorkshireman and suggested the Greeks "get back t'ships".
So I would give it 7 out of 10 as a rating of watchability.

Hmmm...
I think I'd still rather go see Shrek 2, but I'll consider it.

I rather liked it, but then again anything would be considered good compared to the audience I had to watch it with. People talking, constantly leaving ang coming back, mobile phones and laser pointers. And this wasnt just one group of jerks. It was happening all thoughout the cinema. It's times like this when you wish for a simple 'kill all' spell or ability.

Haven't seen it yet, intend to see it, probably never will.

I usually just wait until it comes out on satellite, unless it's something I really want to see. In that case I'm usually lined up for the first showing of the first day it's out, like I did with Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (best HP movie yet, if I do say so myself).

Of course, when you say that, its a comparitive statement - we all know the Harry Potter films are shite. Prisoner of Azkaban may just be minutely less shite.

I hate the Matrix. And Empire and Jedi rocked, but I don't care much for the others (except for that scene in Episode II where Yoda kicked ass - that was funny as hell) I'm more partial to Indiana Jones, myself.
There. We're even. Let's not speak of either subject again.

1 the first matrix was good the first time, everything thereafter made me angry
2 star wars rocks, i will let the retartedness of new movies slip under the radar
3 LOTR great, but too long..wont be seeing those again
4 indiana jones - hell yeah, long lasting value and awesomeness
5 hp...sigh, well actually i saw the 2nd one on HBO (i dont have hbo a friend does) and it wasnt that bad, and i did read the first book (i was 12 at the time) but like the matrix, that is the point that is as far as i go without becoming irritated/thouroughly disgusted
