Somebody's been having trouble with Women, apparently.

Knowing the psychology of the average twenty-something male internet celebrity, I'm guessing Zero Punctuation will overflow with sunshine and rainbows as soon as the situation reverses itself. Or, at least, will be statistically less likely to feature a vagina dentata gag.

But you're not a psychology student?

That's a hideously complex question, really. "No" is close enough to the truth to not exactly be a lie, though.

So no.

It's a valid point; when I went through my Sims phase, I started to notice that it was a complete fucking waste of time, and that there was something unsettling about making my people eat, sleep, and play games on the computer. There is absolutely no escapism in it.

If you get it right, you get the illusion of success. If you get it wrong, and your sims are desperately hungry when they leave for work, you'll find it uncannily redolent of Real Life. And after all, isn't that what we're trying to avoid?

I liked the Sims, in a "I can make everyone I know and then all shove them in one house and it will be HILARIOUS" kind of way. I never really stuck around with one family long enough to do anything though... my favorite part is still making people. And killing people. And getting people pregnant with alien babies.

All three? All three.

That being said, however, I am not shilling out $60 for the newest game. Good god.

Good, because from my knowledge of the psychology of the average twenty-something male, the situation is not likely to reverse itself so soon. Instead, he'll either dive into apathy and stare holes into his ceiling, or he'll try to lose himself in his work or (and this is the best part): He'll suddenly remember his old friends again! That's us!

... what?

Well...there are "games" which involve you rapidly moving the mouse up and down until your hand hurts, to control your character masturbating. Someone really, really didn;t think that one through.

Hey, that last one may be a guy, but he sure as hell looks like a girl. I'm gonna have to pass there.
