This talk about The Path made me look into a bit.

Wow.. I'm no graphic designer but the screenshots of the game that are available via Steam look like Amateur Hour at DeviantArt. I'm really surprised none of those characters are wearing cat ears and tails. ><

And thank you for spoiling the game. I think 'rape simulator' sums up what it is.

... simulates rape to the player, that is. Zing.

On the mention of Exile, the reboots were called Avernum. The control system was kind of funky due to the rotation, but it played almost identically to Exile. The one neat thing was that Phil Foglio did a bunch of in game artwork for the series which hilarious. Check out the character creation description images.

I don't regret buying The Path, but one game I do regret buying is Merchants of Brooklyn. I guess thats what you get for a game built on the Cry Engine 2.
