It was all dandy until they started to discuss the aesthetic value of urinals and whether or not its art.

In short, no.

In long, I suggest you read through this thread because this has all been discussed in a much more epic fashion.

You had a big reply and shortened it to 'no', didn't you?

Also, 3 pages in through that Penny-Arcade thread and it seems all the users are dicks. They see a game trying something new and original that focuses more on the journey then the ending and tear it apart because they don't want to pay money just to die at the end.

Ugh, the best example being the guy who posts at the end of page three. I won't post it all.

Actually, you know what, it just seems like these people only care about gameplay. They're literally complaining because there's no puzzles, combat etc.
As one person puts the creators ideas;
QUOTE
They say, "Fuck puzzles.. fuck dialogue.. fuck combat.. fuck text... fuck everything that's interesting or proven and fun. It's about intimacy."

So according to him a game is not about how close you are to the story/characters. In that line he's basically criticized the creators for trying to achieve immersion over everything else. AND HE'S AGREED WITH.

I'm glad there's small forums like this where we're a bit more open minded.

Well I dunno, downloaded the game last night, tried it, didn't spark my interest, didn't have fun. I guess it can work for some but I understand why many people don't like it. It's one of them "one-of-a-kind, but thank Christ it's a one-of-its-kind" type of games.

The path seems to be one of those games that really shouldn't be spoiled over the internet.
Knowing what's ahead defeats what little purpose the game has. I was spoiled hard, so I doubt I'll ever play this one.

Don't Eat the Mushroom is Art.

So is this another one of those games where someone has to be 'entitles to their own opinion'?

And stop screaming "Rape", Josh. You won't know how it feels like to have something shoved up your ass unless you get Ulcer. The game isn't a big deal anyway.

The big bad wolf is a guy who rapes the girls, Ghello, or so I understand from what I read on the forum.

I'm just going to point out, one guy on the PA forum tried the beta and gave it a thumbs up, whereas the rest of them hadn't tried it and already hated it.

Ehhhh, I'll get around to watching the LP, but a guy raping a bunch of girls doesn't sound interesting to me in the slightest.

Especially since the point of the game seems for you to be the girls, put yourself in danger and be raped as a consequence, wrapped up in metaphor...what's the point?

It's a horror game. The primary concern of a horror game should be to scare you. And these guys are at least trying to be original. But then, a lot of the criticism targets that talking about how pretentious they are and how they have big egos. They could at least wait for the comic creators to shoot it down like we do with Yahtzee.

I downloaded it to check it out, found it kind of silly, not gonna buy it. I wouldn't even call it a game, to be honest, it's a... thing.
