I cannot wait! In just a few short weeks, the culmination of all my hopes, dreams, and fears (ha — not!) will come to pass as Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace hits theaters nationwide. This shit gonna be so good! And more awesome: George Lucas himself wrote the whole screenplay himself. We are in good hands!

It doesn't look like any early copies have leaked online — believe me, I would torrent it so fast — so I've contented myself with watching the trailer over and over and over again on YouTube. It may be only two minutes long, but that two minutes is enough to validate George Lucas's status as an unsupplantable genius.

And the whole cast, really, is something to behold. I have to admit, I kinda hoped Lucas would do like he did with the first three movies, and hire total unknowns, but I trust his instincts. Like Natalie Portman is in it! She is like a super-talented actress. She will bring a touch of sophistication to the proceedings. That's a fine thing, because she's obviously an eventual love interest, and one of my favorite things about the original trilogy was how potent but not over-the-top the romance between Han and Leia was. That's what we like. No one wants to see lovers running through a field of fucking daisies.

The merchandise is awesome too. I went to Taco Bell for lunch and got a little cardboard promotional "coin" from the movie. This one shows Ric Olié, starship captain. Interesting. Looking forward to finding out more about him.

Maybe I will wake up now? ... No. Damn it.

Wow. Seems even the fanboys have their limits:

Wait a minute, there is something really wrong with the original article.

The guy says that he's been watching the trailer on YouTube but the date on the journal is February of '99. That bullcrap! YouTube was founded in 2005!

He just wrote this junk as a publicity stunt to rip on EP I and make it sound like he's an overzealous fanboy. Actually, it's satire, but I don't know if he's really picking on others or himself.

And that link about Ric Oli... um I can't believe all of that was written about a sub-supporting character. His bio was actually given 4/5 stars too. WTH?! Less stars are given to cooler characters. Was that page some kind of joke?

Yeah, I think it's a joke. Comments like "No one wants to see lovers running through a field of fucking daisies" bought back some unpleasant memories:

Noooooooo!!!

Comparing the length of that article with the calibre of Ric Olié's quotes...

"Shield generator's been hit!"
―Ric Olié

"We didn't hit it!"
―Ric Olié

... I'd say that's a joke too. Well I sure hope it is!
