So I just got a new computer so I could play this thing and it rocks house. The attention to detail in every little character's dialogue, the girth of quests, it all feels very real and legitimate. Its a great deal like playing WW without the game. I've played the game about halfway through but decided to start over so I could exploit a character creation bug and get my character higher up in powers a bit faster. Anyone else try this thing?

The dialogue and atmosphere are brilliant, the gameplay and battle mechanics aren't. Which doesn't mean that it's a hard game, just that it can be a bit annoying at times.

And yes, there's a lot of different stuff to see with each different bloodline (and remember: You haven't lived your unlife if you didn't play it Malkavian style), no cheating or bug exploitation really needed.

Yeah it was interesting but the shitty battle and stealth put me off. If only they'd polished it a bit more, it'd have been great.

Ooooooh, I've just remembered how scary that mission in the hotel is. I did that with a friend of mine, which is lucky because I don't think I could have done it on my own.

I found the combat to be quite fun, it was the balancing that was rather off. Especially later in the game, things just had too much health and if you'd focused in conversation things could get tricky.
The biggest problem would be how the game dropped all it's options and became more combat focused towards the end. That being said though, it's still one of my favourite games.

That too. I mean, I'd have loved it if I could have played as a true Ventrue, backstabbing and extorting my way to the top of the foodchain, and instead of picking off every boss one by one, it would've been a lot more fun to have them fight each other. Then finish off the survivors.

The Chinese bitch and her dungeon grrrrrr how I hated that part.

I especially hated that you didn't have to kill everyone there (took me a while to realize that they respawn >_>). You could just walk through, they weren't even much of a threat anyway.

Walking through that place presented a problem for me, like the insta-kill blades springing out from the walls n' all. It wasn't fun.
But the bossfight was the biggest bitch of it all, I had to try it about 20 times till I finally won by sheer luck, and even then I had like 1 HP left. That one wasn't challenging, that was unfair bullshit.

I have to say that for all the hype the haunted house gets, the sewers freaked me out the most. I mean, sure, a poltergeist throws shit at you is scary, but being in a confined tunnel system and looking around a corner to find a spider made of human torsos is really, really fucked up. I think that whole night I passed through every hallway in my house looking into my blindspots and then advancing a bit to check the corners.

I don't remember the torso spider...

I feel like I've missed out now.
