I just wanted to know, does Yahtzee actually still check to see when people order the special editions? I really want them, but I don't wanna spend $15 only to find that I have been ignored 'cause he's forgotten about this place.

Wrong place to ask for advice, since we obviously wouldn't know.

What I know is: If you make that donation via Paypal, then he'll get an e-mail about it, and I'm pretty sure that he wouldn't mind about any extra money and therefore won't treat it as spam.

Also, his mum frequents this board, so if he doesn't react to your donation, then I'm sure you can arrange for some divine parental punishment to be sent in his general direction.

She does? That's always handy to know, what's her username?

I bought the special editions....oooh last summer? Yahtzee still wasn't coming here then, but I got sent emails with download links to them. I'm not sure if they were automated or not, they sort of looked it. But that's a good thing if he's not paying attention any more.

As a thought exercise, do you think he even bothers to change where the download links point to? What with the forgetting we're here and the making huge amounts of money from ZP? Perhaps the most recent people who've bought special editions ought to compare notes?

Now now, let's not ruin the spirit of it by leaning towards the piracy side - this place is still ruled by ninjas, as you should know.

I bought the 1213 SEs about... 6 months ago maybe? Probably less.

Anyway, I got my response quickly and promptly.

The email did say something about the download links changing, so... who knows if they still do...

I haven't gotten any response from my donation myself, but I'm assuming this has a lot to do with the wild fires in Australia.

For those of you that donated for the games before -- how long as the turn around be he emailed you the links?

When I first ordered the SE of 5 DAS and 7DAS, it was a month before I emailed him to see if he ever planned on sending them.

He quickly sent an email back next day with the links apologizing because he'd been having a hard time and was piss drunk most of that month. True story.

Good to know. I'll send him a email midweek if I haven't heard anything.

That's actually a pretty cool story.
