I'll just sit here and wait for Der Mudda to comment on what was said in those seconds after 2:40.

Since when did anyone need a reason to make fun of south African accents? It is (with the possible exception of the Irish) the best accent in the world to make fun of.

She posted something about a week or two ago, I believe.

No, it's shit. While it is indeed wrapped in gold foil, it doesn't change the fact that it's just a piece of shit.

Still here. I try hard not to drive in circles, though at my age I might wander a little ..... at least I got a mention!

The South African accent did rather wander around the world I thought. Dat's my boy.

Well he said at the start of the review the characters spoke in silly accents, and did a silly accent.

Anyway, yeah... FC2.. I wouldn't say its SHITE per se, but I'm not really enjoying it that much. I pick it up now and again but I can never play it for more than an hour at a time or so.

Yeah, that wasn't South African, that was very much Aussie/NZ. Afrikaans is obviously just a whisper away from Dutch (its all there in the name, see, two As in the middle of a word), and it just didn't hit it.

Doesn't mean it wasn't amusing, if a bit overdone, and at least in the game it makes a change from endless US accents for everyone.

I have yet to hear anyone adequately make fun of a South African accent as its nearly impossible to replicate well enough to make fun of. It's one of the few accents in the world that cannot be easily imitated (unlike the American/British/Russian/Japanese/Australian/South American etc etc accents). The reason for this is that the South African accents are actually an amalgamation of many different types of accents (Old Dutch, Afrikaans, British, Xhosa, Zulu etc) and so one can only really imitate it well once one has lived in South Africa for a number of years.

Yahtzee was clearly trying to make fun of it but, like Leonardo di Caprio in "Blood Diamond", he fell short of his intended target and just ended up sounding like a fool. But like Blood Diamond it was still enjoyable to watch.

Uh huh. Like that'll ever happen. Besides, I don't think you would actually want this country!
