The reason for this, well as we've all found out at somepoint, you hear a single or two from an album, and think "that album sounds great" then you go out and get it, and you realise that the other tracks on the album are garbage. This topic is to name those artists who produce non-single tracks that put other artists to shame.

Rules are simple:

1. The song can never have been released as a single.
2. B-sides are ok.
3. Alternative versions of a single are not acceptable.
4. Cover tracks are not acceptable either.
5. They don't have to be in any order.
6. If your name is Heccubus, you're allowed as many as you want.

If you're not sure if a song was single or not: Wikipedia is your friend.

I would start but I'm afraid my list would be almost entirely GNR tracks.

I generally like upbeat rock songs, with an alternative edge to them. Here are my 3 faves that were never singles:

1000 Julys - Third Eye Blind
Love You Madly - Cake
God - Head Automatica

This is a great thread, especially for people who love music but don't have the time and money to buy and listen to whole albums looking for the one or two worthwile non-single songs. I wish more people would post on this!

Speaking of which, has Bloodhound Gang's "A Lap Dance is so much better when the Stripper is crying" ever been released as a single?

This is stupid to bring it up, what with all the publicity arround him lately, but I've always been (from a distance) a Michael Jackson fan. Turns out he holds the record for the Most Non-Singles #1 hits ( http://www.allmichae...usicawards.html ), which makes sense if you think about it: he only released a handfull of records and singles, but had a ton of hits.

(I know this was not the purpose of the thread, I just like to impart Michael Jackson trivia)
I know that you believe you understood what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you read is not what I meant.

I am about 98% sure that A Lap dance. . . .
was never a single
but there is always that pesky 2%
holding back my complete victory.

As for MJ
that does not surprise me at all
but very little does when it come to him

i heard he walked on the moon!
lol ok that was bad
