Hey all,

When there was all that talk of a Trilby movie, I thought it would be cool to create a few "cinematic" sounding versions of the music from the series.

I have a few of the tracks from 6 Days and Trilby's Notes (about 10 tracks) that I put up for download, so tell me what you think!

6 Days "Danger" Track 11:

Trilby's Notes "Research" Track 9:

Please note that all tracks are in the M4a format.

Ô.ó Why?

This fact offends me and thus... Wait, you used Megaupload too!? Jeeze! Learn about free stuff dammit! Freeware, open source, etcetera! Be aware of it damn you!

Next time I want it in OGG Vorbis uploaded to Mediafire or some other such simpler, easier, free-er service!

Oh, I did. I'm just really annoyed because I can't get iTunes to work. Looks like I'll be using Winamp or something... =/ Also, music was... well it was just what it was. I'm not gonna be listening to those tracks on long trips because they're not substantial enough.

The best part of this thread is that the title fits perfectly with the movie itself! Brilliant job there!

The music was kind of eh. Sorry.

And who said all gamers were jerks in forums? rolleyes.gif

Thanks for listening, and I'm sorry that it wasn't up to your high standards. I'm honestly still messing around with my music software and I'm not up to John Williams standards yet.

But help me out here. Is there something I can do to make it sound better, more awe-enspiring?

Also, got a better site for uploading music to? I'm pretty web-crippled, I gotta say.

The problem with what you have now, I think, is that it sounds like you took the songs, replaced the midi sounds with slightly better quality versions of computerized instruments, and said "TAH DAH." If you're going to try to give it a more cinematic feel, you'd need to give them more depth; add more instead of giving us something that has the same exact music as what m0ds did. Many films are scored with a full orchestra; that's over 100 instruments you'd need to have in your reworking. Even if you'd want to go with less (which can still sound good,) don't just rehash the old songs. We've heard them multiple times. Add something new, something deeper.

Hopefully that made sense; it's 9am and my brain is never fully functional in the morning.

As for upload sites, I have no idea. Sorry. Personally I have no problem with Megaupload but apparently Bob does so whatever. tongue.gif

Bob needs some good crack to calm him down. Are you still on that bad crack? Not good, my friend.

No harm in trying, but there is harm in using megaupload!! The others are right though, you did really just change the instrument set, hee. Have a go at recomposing them, try a decent Tracker or something...you never know smile.gif

What is this about a film, though? I've recently done a Ben Jordan movie, hope to do a Pleurghburg one this year so maybe a Trilby movie is something Screen 7 could look into for 2010, with help from people at this community. But still, someone show me the thread?? smile.gif

Happy new year to everyone!

Maybe try stripping it down - maybe just a chamber quartet, or guitar and piano perhaps? That's the beautiful thing about music, it's so interchangable and flexible.

On another note, try yousendit, and upload them as mp3s. I won't touch anything Apple related on principle.
