On a lighter note: do you have to sit exams? What do you have to do to graduate?

Let's see, I think the basic requirements at my high school were four years of English, three years of science, three years of math, three years of social studies (four classes, but two are only semester courses), two years gym, one semester of Health, and any empty hours left in the schedule were filled with elective courses.

By exams I'm guessing you mean exit exams. We have to do two (English and math) in tenth grade and two (science and social studies) in eleventh. If we fail those we can't graduate (or pass the grade either, I think) After that it's just basic semester and end-of-year exams for every class.

Wait, how specific were you being? I'm not really sure how this compares to other school systems.

On a side note: I've now officially received my diploma, which for some reason we don't get until a week after the ceremony - I'm off to burn my old uniform now in celebration... biggrin.gif

Very you! biggrin.gif

I honestly don't think Louisiana's standards are all that high, really, at least up until now they weren't. I heard that all the classes from 2005 onward are going to be required to take more classes to graduate.

In other words, the number of people graduating is seriously going to drop.

So is that...

Except she didn't write that second phrase. That's from a book I read once. Jane plagiarized. sad.gif

...blink.gif...

...I did? sad.gif

For some reason, those two simple words have given me a painful knot in my stomach and I now feel like whimpering quietly in the corner...

ohmy.gif I was just kidding Jane. sad.gif YOU DIDN'T PLAGIARIZE (that I know of). Although someone's probably written "Bloody well hope so - I wrote it!" before. I can't imagine that that combination of words hasn't been recorded before. <- double negative with a double 'that' oyes cool.gif

(*shakes the bad, bad feelings off*)

I had a feeling, it's just that you've now uncovered one of my (several) hidden fears. Plagiarism. (*shudders*)

Cold pizza is one of my hidden fears. sad.gif It sucks because you can't be a decent nerd and fear cold pizza. I weep at my misfortune to have been born with this debilitating fear. I also am wary of fans (electrical and mechanical).

OMGSOIEKREMCL(random letters that mean something if you're TRULY a nerd dry.gif ) There's a fan in my closet. It comes out to hunt at night when I'm sleeping, which is why I never sleep. unsure.gif

I'm afraid of the constant beeping created by alarm clocks. Can't hear one without physically wincing.
