QUOTE (Ives @ Dec 18 2008, 01:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Oh, hi. Ives here, first time poster, long time reader.

I'm pretty sure Yahtzee does not want to live in a cave making adventure games, nor did he make enough money to do so. And being the smart bastard we all know he is, he wants to evolve past ZP reviews as well. So Game Damage is an attempt to break onto TV stage, much like the first ZP style reviews were an attempt to get a spot on the internets. Even though Matt and Yug are naturally predisposed to be hated undeservingly, just because they're interpreted as two foreign bodies next to Yahtzee, I say we should give Game Damage a chance. For one person with no previous television experience and two people with no media experience whatsoever, they've done a pretty good job. Besides, even Yahtzee cannot do a half an hour TV show all by himself.

In any case, if the guys succeed and strike a deal with some cable network (if they didn't already), the world will get to see more Yahtzee. And the world needs more of his special brand of misanthropy. So let's hope he does for video game industry the same thing Charlie Brooker does for television.

More importantly, what does party mix have to do with video games?

Yahtzee, is that you?

Sorry, just joking. Welcome.

Driveby.

Well anyways, it sorta looks like a televised ZP where Yahtz. isn't speaking insanely fast and he's showing his face now. Hopefully now he can get a bigger budget on making adventure games or something.

Never been more glad to be an atheist, seeing as I definitely would have gone to hell for grinning at that picture.

Well, that, and for the incident with the shovels and the beatniks in Ohio, but I - like everyone else - assumed that god turned a blind eye on that state at that time.

Well I finally watched the Pilot. All of it...

Being reasonable, I think Matt is a little elf with a strange chin who just sits there in the background while Yug and Yahtz make unfunny jokes. There are only like 3 skits which seem to find their way onto the screen when there is an awkward moment on the couch. (And yahtzee seems to look like a fish with a hat for some reason...)

His stares remind me of Tim buckley. It scares me a bit when he just stares into the camera.

I loved the pilot, it was great, I don't see why people level so much criticism at matt and yug, oh wait, because you guys are here for yatzee, they were just as good, just not as famous

No. Yug is the hugbox dude with the "let's all get along" attitude, Matt is the completely unlikeable über-nerd and Yahtzee is the pessimistic misanthropic snarky arrogant bastard. Now pick the one who doesn't have to play a role. And even his act seemed forced.

I don't feel very enthusiastic about this show but I hope they get it rolling and they improve their shit, so that it will actually become good stuff.

Yup, yup, lots of room for improvement. And since that's in his spirit, we'll just bash away like no tomorrow.

Now get off our lawns.
