I apologize for the all caps.

I was at Target. I was looking at a box set of the OT I'd not seen before.

I read the bullet points on the back.

One read thusly:
QUOTE (The Box)
Contains commentary from director George Lucas and the original cast and crew, as well as the original theatrical release of each film.

Limited time only, my friends. Let us rejoice in the time we are given.

The Hell?! I bought the one that came out where the Original OT was on the bonus disk and has no commentary.

Ah well, I'm happy with what I have. This is just another money making scheme.

For the first time ever and for a limited time only, the enhanced versions of the Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi will be available individually on DVD. Plus, these 2-Disc DVD's will feature a bonus disc that includes, for the first time ever on DVD, the original films as seen in theaters in 1977, 1980 and 1983.

Sounds just like the old boxset to me, but with the disc sold individually. Maybe the box set doesn't sell anymore.

At least it should have the benefit of allowing purchase of the good version without having to by the altered ones.

I'm not sure what you mean by the old box set.

I've never heard of the unedited original series being on DVD, and apparently neither had the people who wrote the copy.

Hmmm... That's interesting because the DVD's were released in like September of 2006 that had the special editions and the bonus disk was the original theatrical release of the films. It may have been in a box set somewhere, but I got all mine individualy.

Now the people that are writing something regarding products are always going to sound like everything they sell is new. They lie for a living.

Yes, that's the one I meant with the old box set in this case.

This release sound to me just like they have taken those boxes and now sell the discs individually, except that you probably still can't by jsut the bonus disk, but you have to buy the Special Edition ESB (for instance) to get the bonus disc with the theatrical release of that movie.

And I still refuse to buy anything that means paying for the special editions.
