Though this was decided awhile back, Adywan, creator of A New Hope: Revisited (the coolest SW fan edit ever, see fanedit.org for details), decided he was going to make the TIEs all gray in ESB: Revisited.

QUOTE ("adywan")
So the TIEs are now definitely going to be back to grey. The Bombers will have the original colouring because they are different ships. TIEs were grey in ANH, so i want to keep the consistency there

Some good news: I have now completed 1hr 43 minutes of the colour correction on ESB. Totally worked my ass off but it has been great to be able to get back to it. Probably just after X-mas you may start to see a few new FX clips appearing smile.gif

PS: I've already expressed my view in the thread. If enough people respond, he may change his mind. Frankly, I prefer the unique look of the gray TIEs in ANH, and the color that the blue adds to the other two movies.

I like them just the way they are. Honestly, I don't really approve of any edits of the OT, official or otherwise. It was great from the get-go, inconsistencies and all. This guy obviously puts a lot of work into his edit, and all power to him, but it's not my cup of tea.

I'm with Commodore. While I appreciate all the work people do on this as hobbyists, you've got to draw the line somewhere. I'm fine with the original untouched versions of the film that came out a few years back. smile.gif

Fair enough, guys!

I figure it won't be too hard for someone to take his edit, a year from now, when it actually comes out, and recolor the TIE Fighters, like re-coloring the Fremen eyes blue in David Lynch's "Dune."
