Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me with an art project. I know this might seem a little spammy but I really need the help. I've been advertising all over the place, and I get a lot of "oh how cool I will help I promise!" But only a few people have actually done anything.

Basically I am collecting self-portraits. But the photographs cannot contain anything human. So no faces, toes, whatever. So one has to be creative in thinking how they can represent themselves through use of objects, environment, etc.

I am experimenting with a sort of concept... that I don't know how to explain. I am an artist, but I am an instigator of art... The project is not only in the collection, but in the instigation and participation of all sorts of people from all over. (Kind of like that guy whose greatest art work is to fill a giant clear box up with sperm donations...)

So yeah... If any of you guys could participate, I'd really appreciate it. And tell anyone else you think might be interested (or that can further forward it to OTHER people that might be interested)... I wanted to get like, hundreds of photos to put up, but as of right now I only have about 50.

I stared reading this with some interest. I thought great, how to represent myself ... first I was going to send you a giant box filled with sperm, but then I got to that part of the post where you said that someone else had already done that. Now I am blocked.

I'm wanting PHOTOS though... If you really wanted to represent yourself with sperm, though, I won't argue that it's too human to fit within the parameters - just make sure it's a PHOTOGRAPH, please!

Sadly, I don't have a good camera around apart from that measly thing that resides in my cellphone. But if I had one, I'd probably make a picture like this one. It's the closest match, really.

I don't have access to a camera now, but I might be able to scrape something together before Nov. 30.

Right, I've got a picture, but since my copy of Photoshop is out of whack, I can't tell you the dpi, and I certainly can't guesstimate what size in inches it is. It was shot at 10megapixels, and has come out at 3648*2736 pixels. How do you want it resized, or do you just me to email it to you straight as is?

I have a photo on my camera that covers this exact thing but, i've lost the cable to hook it up to my computer... I shall look.
